Time investment disproportionate to fun

I just wanted to give my feedback as I'm done with the game for now.

It feels like for every 2 hours of time I invest I get 1 hour of fun.

2/3rds of my time feels like a waste in this game. Waiting for upgrades, crafting maps, combining distilled emotions, juicing maps, navigating the 20000 nodes on my atlas, playing the game. It's all a chore.

It takes way too much time to set up and do fun things in the game.

After 1000 hours and multiple levels 90+ characters. Looking back I didn't have a ton of fun. It mostly was just a horrible experience with nuggets of fun sprinkled in.

The over randomization and tedium has to go. I get that you think the conflict and tedium makes the game better, but it doesn't.

Anyway best of luck with making your game. I'll be playing other games that don't require a negative ratio time investment to enjoy them.

I look forward to seeing the 0.3.0 patch notes to decide whether I play or not.

the fan was before patch 0.2 ...now is frustration.
invest your time in something else until 0.3 is out.

Depending on patch notes even after .3.0 i might be doing that.
The amount of time you have to put into this game for any amount of fun is disproportionate. I've put a few hours into a couple other games and had comparatively more fun than PoE2.
Has the potential to be good, so hopefully the quality of life and ease of play makes it fluid and fun instead of a tedious shitshow with small nuggets of fun.
i had lots of fun during the campaign, once end game hit , all fun left. only tedium and frustration.
I don't get some of the example mentionned seens as "waste of time", it feels like you put a lot of energy and expectations on unnecessary things which leads to annoyance due to lack of results and now everything feels like chore. You seems to play A LOT too. Maybe you should take a break?

Sure a break is nice. But the game has glaring issues. It shouldn't ever feel like I'm wasting my time crafting 600 t15 maps to throw away 3/4ths of them and then lose half of the remaining ones to corruption. Leaving me with only 75ish t16s to run.
It shouldn't ever feel like i wasted 5 hours grinding out into the atlas to get two citadel groups to fight arbiter twice.
It shouldn't ever feel like I haven't had an upgrade to my character in 2 weeks.
It shouldn't ever feel like a waste where im just doing tasks to do tasks.

Crafting 800 distilled ires up into higher distilled emotions is literally a waste of time and you're better off grinding out a divine drop to just buy a bunch of the higher emotions or selling them for currency and buying them.

I did play a lot. All the more reason my feedback matters. This game will live and die by the people able to put 1000s of hours into it. Not the people who put a hundred or so hours and move on. It's how the game is designed.

65% of the game is a time sink for no reason other than to be a time sink. If im only enjoying the game 35% of the time i play why would I play.

There are just better games to put my time into. I'd rather play another 5000 hours of league of legends than PoE2 right now..... and if that's not a red flag to the devs. Idk what is.

I agree with you that there are many time-consuming things in this game, but we can actually skip them without any issues. I usually prepare a chest full of corrupted waystones to run and rarely distill them, except for special maps. I also simplify my loot filter to only show a few items I'm looking for. Overall, no matter how much you try to maximize your income, it's not actually that much and still largely depends on RNG God, so if you feel too much pressure in the game, I think everyone should simplify everything as much as possible.

I mean, you enjoying only 35% of the game is not a red flag. It simply means you dont like the game. Its beyond me why people sink so much time into a game they dont like. If you have more fun playing LoL, Good! You found a game you enjoy. Play it.

There are a lot of people who enjoy the game just the way it is. To be honest, i think the game is not time consuming enough. Right now you can get to almost perfect gear way too fast. It is way to easy to get to a point where you one shot every boss. The mechanics of the boss fights are so cool, but you barely have to interact with them because player characters are too strong. Integrating a dodge role is an amazing idea, but its pretty useless if there is never a reason to use it.
