Game is just too tedious and difficult
lol knowledge, copy pasting from poe ninja isnt knowledge, but it is common sense.
Decade ago you could just play the game and grow and scale, now, if you dont do some meta trickery to swap incoming damage types around, good luck. The pattern emerges, people copy builds not because they are powerful, but because thats the only way how to get to a point where you can afford to experiment with your own ideas without dying from boredom of farming gold for respecs. ___

" Kind of a self-report, here. And also indicative of why you're having problems reaching endgame: Copying finished, fully min-maxed builds from poe.ninja is NOT going to help a player who doesn't have complete mastery of the game, because all you are seeing is the final end product removed from all of the intermediate steps required to reach it. It's like looking at a cake and assuming you could make one just like it by guessing all of the ingredients. I'm sure some highly skilled pastry chefs could do that, but your lay person, who barely knows their way around a kitchen? No chance in hell that's going to work out for them; they'd be lucky to produce something remotely edible. There are no shortcuts when it comes to knowledge, and as GrindyJames said, knowledge is power. If you play the game for 10 years and spend that entire time copying other people's builds, you aren't learning anything and the end result of those 10 years is that you don't know any more than you knew after the first month. Knowing "Mathil took these nodes on this build" is worthless if you don't know why he took those nodes on that specific build, and why he didn't take other similar nodes, and why he didn't take those nodes on other similar builds. The "pattern" you describe isn't a result of the game being too complicated, it's a result of people being lazy and becoming conditioned to easy as shit games which insult the intelligence of their playerbase. And that's not Path of Exile... at least, it isn't supposed to be. Hard to be so sure these days... |

Wrong, I get always 36 challenges with 20-30divs.

" To do what? 7D will clear everything up to Ubers/T17s its when you get to them that investment goes up drastically if you want to really cruise. OPs problem is gonna be too much copy pasta not enough knowledge as others are stating, off meta supply in SC is absolutely insane - use it. OP post your build on gameplay help and just ask people to tweak it there will be plenty of cheap power available. |

I keep making new builds. I haven't updated the cyclone build since day 2 and didn't spend any currency on it.

all the gear i have on my character i've found on mercenaries
the gorund loot is just dogpoop. at that point everything should just drop identified and we could just look for the loot we need. Last Epoch did it well and im not sure why GGG decides to keep ancient mechanics . "There are Penalties in the Game, no one's complaining about them"

The last really big difficulty spike was maybe Expedition. At the very least since Archnemesis got removed (thankfully), the difficulty has been pretty much constant.
Make sure to have multiple layers of defense - capped resistances, high HP/ES, some avoidance (dodge, block etc.), recovery, maybe a decoy totem... whatever fits the kind of character you're playing, and you'll be fine. Hitting lvl 90 in HCSSF is completely doable with a bit of practice. |

PoE is a very grindy game. It is both its curse and the singular beauty of it.
You will need to upgrade your character incrementally. Don't think of it as "700 div" (which is a bit on the high end). Think of it as "Five div for a good ring." And in three days I'll spend 4 div on a nice pair of boots. And in another few days, I'll get a 2 div belt. One piece at a time, improve. Once you cover the basics, save up for something big. That 30-40 div weapon that will slingshot you into the pinnacle endgame. That super-spendy Anethama ring or other T-0 unique that just breaks things. Don't look at the whole journey - it becomes overwhelming. Focus on the step right in front of you. |
