@GGG why the silence about the server issues?
" They launched PoE2 beta right before a month-long vacation. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they have a skeleton crew working on PoE1 issues now, with most of team back on PoE2 development... |

It's starting to look like GGG is this guy saying "I got my shit together now, it won't happen again". But actually hasn't learned anything from his mistakes.
I'm sure it will get better soon, but yeah, not a great way to get back into poe 1 after such a long wait. |

" They said they had this figured out. But apparently there's still more figuring to do, again. |

I had 1 disconnect and a couple freezes up until today. Today especially, ive disconnected a dozen times. lost 5 div in map value. Had my fps crash from 180 to zero. My latency go over 14k, without a dc.
While everyone everywhere else was complaining about issues, i counted myself lucky that in the OCE region i was fine. What is different today. I got on after going to bed, and within 9 hours, the game just started not functioning for me. |

They have clearly abandoned all development other than MTX at this point.
I get abused by GGG staff every time I post because I started the Fix Your Game meme. Pathetic and unprofessional.

The question is whether or not its even on GGG's side?
Ive got like 2 weeks /played time between two characters this league, and Ive disconnected one time. Ive had one or two instances of lag that went away after a few moments. Other than that, the California server has been perfect. So the question becomes how come some people are having 0 issues if its on GGG's side? We would expect that everyone would be having problems. People will say "but I play X game and its fine" but that doesnt mean anything. In most cases to connect to a server you are routed through many points on the overall internet that have nothing to do with GGG servers, and if even 1 of those is having issues, your game connection will suffer. |

" I've never claimed server issues is their fault directly or indirectly - their silence about it was though. Especially since at that time some communication did happen about Xbox & Playstation issues - yet nothing for PC user in the EU. It took them 5 days after launch to say something despite "live updates..." That said though to some extent GGG has a responsibility to make sure their servers are healthy and safe. Eventually they said what was going on... given it were (several) DDOS attacks. Although I personally still doubt that it was/is the main issue. Most modern server hosting companies are (should be) protected against that. Bad connections/routing, bad providers and proxy servers could be an issue in Europe for sure for some countries; or simply an overload of requests that EU servers can't handle and perhaps looks/Acts like a DDOS due to the amount of traffic requests - especially around launch weekend. For us players it's simply a guessing game what the real issue is, until GGG communicates it. That's what I'm asking for - simple transparency to also rule out if the problem would be on my end OR if I could do something on my end to improve my experience as a player. Thus far though I've managed to avoid most server issues by playing on American servers and such. -> But I'v had issues for at least 4-5 leagues now on most EU servers so, and plenty of posts/people saying the same. (including streamers) It's up to GGG to decide how they handle it, if at all... if they don't well then players will find other games to play I guess. |
