This is the WORST LEAGUE LAUNCH in POE history.

I need to vent.

Yesterday I made time to come back to a league I was waiting for nearly 1 whole year.

STEAM did not auto download patch, I start downloading, game down! QUEUE went up.. omg quick LOG IN. Game now needs to clean cache.. 10 MINUTES.

I get to 15k queue, not bad still.

LEAGUE LAUNCHES.

I create my character, DC.

For the next 2 HOURS I couldnt create a character and I wasnt the only one, thankfully some bigger streamers also had this so I wasnt alone.

After 2 hours I start playing and the servers keep crashing constantly.

I push through get to ACT 8 (7 HOURS after league launch, I am usually in maps in 4hours) somehow before I couldnt play because of the constant DC-s...

Went to sleep, wake up today, get to maps.

MAPS START DC-ing and deleting my maps.. I cannot progress from T1-3 maps because I cannot get to the bosses FAST ENOUGH to get completion bonus, let alone play a map..


THIS IS ALL DURING A RACE??? A RACE? What race is this? Who do you need to pay to win the race? Are the racers DDOSing the servers?

This is wack and I have no words.

Even BLIZZARD did a better D4 Expansion launch because after their 6 hour delay everyone could play without issues.


edit: Sunday early morning 1AM here and I give up. Not logging in until patched. I cannot even complete maps anymore because I cannot make it to bosses in time before DC or Rollback occurs which deletes the entire map.
I thought about skipping nautral progression and started buying T16 maps but then I have not enough time to kill map boss to get completion bonus so I just delete maps without endgame progress. I am afraid to do new endgame content because of rollbacks and DC.

I hoped for something else but I am not surprised because PoE2 was the same desaster for months now without even a comment.
I never gave a company as much credit as GGG and it's not even close but I think after the last months I will not log in ever again if I lose interest at the league start after waiting almost a year.

How much worse is this launch than Ultimatum launch, in your experience?

There were MANY league launches where the game was unplayable for hours, even the entire weekend of launch.

Early 3.x launches say hi. Multiple 2.x launches say hi. Ultimatum says hi. I believe it was Kalandra that was the first league in multiple league launches before it that actually "worked".

The same people KNOW that league launches are generally terrible, and then come here and rage that the launch....worked exactly how they've experienced time and time again.

Defiition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

I participated in most of them and cannot remember rollback being an issue. I don't care about dc's and some spikes every now and then on leaguestart but being rolled back frequently every afternoon between 1pm and 4pm cet seems to be the new standard (there were multiple threads about EU servers almost everyday in the poe2 section for months now and almost no one played it anymore). I don't expect it to be a league start issue and that's why I am pissed.

edit: I know I wasn't adressed since I didn't do OP, I just felt the need to also riot a bit.

It´s saturday night in EU and the EU servers are UNPLAYABLE. You get DC every other map, lose entire map, get rolled back and then PING goes from 20-500-20-500-20-500 in Hideout and town.

I need to use Washington server with 120ms ping and even then I get DC every once in a while.

worst league launch in poe history, so far :)

They are definitely not bringing any goodwill back with this.
