poe1 in console is cooked

Not even same thing. GGG didn't check their console code and now you point finger at Sony and Micrsoft for having certificationprocesses to stop those kind of errors? Makes no sense to be honest!

What?

PC has already had several updates. But because our platform isn't monopolized by corporations who treat their customers like garbage, we were able to get them and keep playing.

Look man, I get it. I used to be a console guy. But at some point during the PS2/360 era, I decided to start respecting myself and I got a gaming PC.

Never looked back.
"To our console players, we have identified the source of the problem on our end and have fixed the clients.

Both platforms are now in certification. We will be able to release them in the next 4-14 hours depending on them passing certification."

If they had checked their codes in advance no certification would be required....

I buiilt my first PC waaay back in 1991. Was a PC onlygamer until 2012 but got tired of the "always upgrade for thousands (of swedish crowns) each year"-rotation.

So I went 100% PS3 - PS4 / PS4 Pro - PS5 / PS5 Pro and put all that hard earned money on games instead of upgrading stuff every other month. Console might be lacking mods and so on but as a singleplayer I love the simplicify off it.
Never looked back.

And with games like Diablo 4 running smooth as heck on my PS5 it should be just as easy for PoE 1 & 2 to be as good if GGG just cared enough to optimize them properly imho.

;)
i am just suprised that they skip out console like this with over 150 thousand people in console que yesterday night

ps5 went up to 83k in que
xbox went up to like 50-60k in que

before the que stopped
That said, now the patch is downloading on my PS5. 13 hours late, but hopefully I get to play a little while now without more hassle.

Patch downloaded fast enough (10.4 Gb) but according to the message PoE start screen it says servers up 2 am utc

- THAT'S 5 HOURS FROM NOW !!! Are you kidding GGG ? or just a typo??

Edit: It was a typo, THANK GGGOD. ;)

That's a shame, this being roughly the time that PC improvements started significantly slowing down. (And when memory then GPUs hadn't exploded in price yet.)

Well, GGG, maybe even today, probably has about an order magnitude less funding available than (Microsof-Activision-King-)Blizzard (when comparing how much reportedly PoE2 and D4 cost).

Still, yeah, it would be nice if PoEs became average in terms of optimization, instead of ones of the worst. (But I guess that having code that's probably dating back to ~2008 doesn't help...)
