Technical Support (Path of Exile 1) - Game crashes upon start up. - Forum

" Having same issue, game was working fine on leaguestart, now after recent micro patch it goes black screen after launch and closes after. After inspecting logs I can see app is starting Vulkan instead of DX12, even though in production_config.ini its set to DX12: renderer_type=DirectX12 so I guess this is the issue edit: fixed by removing old config, and finding out that it's now called device_type! cringe Can you break it down on how to do this for someone who isn't savvy? Same problem here. I was playing normally after new patch appeared. Next day when I woke up and opened game - no grinding gear games intro, only black screen, music from main menu for 10-20 seconds and then game shuts down by itself. The process keeps repeating every time I try to run the game. I Tried to solve this problem with running a game as an administrator, updating graphic drivers, re-installing and installing the game again. Nothing helped. This problem is STILL unsolved - i have same situation 2 days already and I see I am not alone in it. GGG - you need to do something with that !!! Opening it on steam DOESN'T WORK, changing drctX in config.ini DOESN'T WORK. DO NOT trust these clowns thinking they've made it work for themselves. Yeah same, still broke here. Definitely something device dependent. I dug out another pc we had and setup in another room and got it workin there so I could still play some at least last night. Though now I'm wondering if an old laptop I have might run it so I can at least be sitting at my normal desk and chair. Hopefully some patches will come once they get back from the weekend. Working for me on an M4 air using Kegworks (literally running fine right now as I post). I had to fix the production_Config.ini as they inserted a new constant. I also deleted all of my cache. I did NOT have to reinstall. This should work on any Apple Silicon Mac.
