I am on the character creation screen, but I can only choose between "Standard League" and "Mercenaries"?

I can create a new character and get to the game in Standard.

Have tried every North American gateway.
Every Mercenaries character gives an immediate "unexpected connection" when logging in. My internet is good, and my standard characters work fine. livejamie
