3.26 | Banner Slammer | SSFHC | 25M DPS with No Uniques | 150M+ Endagame | T17/Ubers Viable
" You might be right on the ring, but the problem is that War Banner only scales phys, so a large part of the underlying scaling doesn't do its thing. Plus, if full fire conversion, fire hits don't impale, rendering Master of Metal moot, and only being partially effective (only counting the phys component for impale). It might be a possibility, or a flavor variant, but I currently have no real predictions on if it'll be a net positive, especially as it means you can't craft a rare to take other wanted stats - especially mana cost reduction. Im not too familiar with these types of build. Can you explain how General's cry works and what it does for the build here.

General's Cry for Earthshatter builds (that's the skill op is using here don't need general's cry for other slams) is used as it has the lowest cooldown amongst the warcries. As Earthshatter's main thing is shattering the pillars with warcries, automating the lowest CD warcry is huge QoL.

" And beyond that, the value of General's Cry is that we lower its CD further, which enables it to contribute well to the valor engine. I've actually tweaked the over the last hour or so to optimize the valor generation even more so that we're more likely to have more valor at any point in time for the sake making it easier to have more stacks if we're just pressing banners out of instinct without looking at the stacks. |

any plans to add a leveling section? I'm a new player interested in playing the build but I don't know how to get there.

This isn't the type of build that really benefits from any special leveling. Do whatever you want. Play cyclone and switch eventually. Play the usual sunder and autoexert setup if you want (probably 30 great guides on YouTube I figure since it's common). Beeline toward the warcry and banner nodes if you want to get the build's core identity up as you're leveling!
As a non-speedrunner, I am just going to chip away at the first passive tree as it feels right. The mechanics that really turn this build on are the warcry = valor and banners linger masteries and valor gain wheel. With taking the 30% refund node as well first on the ascendancy, a rudimentary form of the build that begins to tease how the banners work starts shaping up while in the 30s and it continually refines itself as more mechanical passives/the 2nd ascendancy node is unlocked. I'll be leveling this way because I love committing to a build idea early so I can watch it grow from the ground up - even in builds where it's definitely way worse to commit to a skill before level 80, for example! One of my hopes of this build is that it doesn't really require jumping through hoops or 5 layers of passive tree/gear Tetris gymnastics to function while leveling. Excellent build from what I can tell! Copying for my leaguestart. Haven't really played slams/warcry/banner stuff before at all so looking to learn about them through the process. Kudos for thinking outside of the box where everyone's focused on the reworked fortify node.

I'm planning to just level with Econc until I can swap. Shouldn't be a problem since Econc requires no special gear at all and tree respec is easy with gold now.

I couldn't find a good way in PoB to league start with it solo so I'll be starting econc as well. If circle mechanics are a good thing to farm this league I'll transition to the triple banner slam around level 90 when I have 20 quality gems and a serviceable weapon. If Sunder of Trarthus is any good somebody please post your experience.
My endgame of choice looks like it might be scuffed aura stacking, fortify stacking Smite with a permanent 105 valour defiance banner zoom if I can manage it but that gear won't exist at league start. |

Do you know if the banner maim can be supported by maim support for increased phys damage taken and would that scale with banner aura effect? i think the old flesh and stone had something like that and it did scale.
