Why was Ignite nerfed?

Elementalist no longer has 25% more ignite damage getting rare modifier that converts enemies physical damage to fire (only other source is on the unique belt). One of the most bewildering changes imo.

Because they dont like one character to be "go-to" for something. For same reason Necronamcer lost +2 to minion gems level in the past.

" Bewildering being an understatement. Affliction and Necropolis are the worst leagues ever. The current game design has turned this game into a loot-shower fest, chase uniques are too available; and obtaining chase items through stacked decks and valdo's boxes is a flawed design. The game also needs a massive balance pass overall.

Its probably a nerf in general but as long as it still has All Damage Ignites as thats the most important line in Shaper of Flame.

My guess would be because of the golem buffs mby they didn't want witch being too powerful. Also people are talking about the convert phys part as being strong for hc so mby it's ment for hc balance reasons.

" Thing is just like I mentioned it stacks multiplicatively with phys conversion to element on player's side so it's not as effective. Still something I suppose. Chill node grants more meaningful defence. |

Its because they were removing the typed bonuses from all of the shaper nodes, that node specifically was pretty much taken for all damage ignites not for 25% more if fire as you'd generally outperform as another ascendancy if using fire already.
Its a thematic tidy up and not universally a nerf, they all got kinda sidegraded in a way. I personally think the chill node is worse now for example but some players like it much more. Basically its not a nerf, the golem PDR loss is the closest thing to a nerf and even that has avenues where its better now. Edit: They actually changed the chill node again so its pure defensive but its harder to scale.... Need to think about this one specifically again, gut feeling is slight nerf due to increase investment requirements but will have to play around with it. You ask like there is a real reason to tell you, rather than a bunch of beginner game designers assigned to PoE1 to keep it alive moving random things around so that things feel somewhat new.
