We'll all figure out how we gear them in a couple of days :) But yea on the side note, having them take more lightning dmg is not the way to go if you want to make them tanky. TLDR of that video was give your merc a block chance shield with recovery on block.
Anyhow yeah dori merc is going to die a lot but doesn't mean it wont be useful like you could just use it for bossing when you only need the merc to be alive for a few seconds while you one shot the boss with lightning damage. |

We haven’t really seen any of the npcs in action yet, and we haven’t discovered their strengths, weaknesses, or even how good or bad the overall AI is. So no, you can't really make solid gear picks or decide what’ll make them tanky or amazing without having a clue how they perform in the first place. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

Why did he release this video now instead waiting untill he can actully test those things whether they work the way he think it works? Becuase if he waited, he would get way less clicks.
