So sick of seeing this brought up. Explain how wasd will work with flasks and your skills? Yeah that'll feel great-_- You dont need it.

First thing i do on every character is automating flasks asap in endgame.
Before that i don't use them anyway because i don't like flask piano with click to move either.
Also, again, it is not about replacing click to move. Nobody wants to take anything away from the current system.
Some builds will play better with WASD, some will play better with click to move, that is the beauty of PoEs build diversity and player choice :)

The game was initially designed to press your flasks manually and it is still a great system. I still use it the way it was intended because it makes the game more interactive but GGG cave in to the crowd of lazy players and implemented mage blood and auto flasks. The game is now balanced around auto flasks and I did not ask for this. Now the lazy controller crowd wants WASD. And I have a feeling GGG will cave in once more and the game will be rebalanced again with this new feature. In the end if you play click to move and press your flasks manually, you will be royally fucked and your gameplay ruined because of the lazy console crowd.

I'm sorry you are haunted by these doomer thoughts, but the game rewards multiple different playstyles with multiple builds, and will continue to do so, WASD or not.
Flask piano is and was disliked by the majority of people including click to move ultras. If you prefer to use flasks manually you even get rewarded for it by using Enkindling orbs.
If you like using flasks manually that is your choice, but don't state your opinion as facts.
+1 for this easy WASD solution. Great Video for keeping it simple. And should be easy for gg to add like this
Is the mouse cursor really not disappearing anymore? And what utility are you using?
Just got reminded of how shit predictive is after coming back to poe1 after playing so much lockstep WASD on poe2, lockstep with cursor movement to me feels objectively worse and the delay is much more noticeable compared to WASD lockstep, need WASD on poe1 urgently so I dont't have to deal with predictive again
+1
Poe2 was my first game in this genre, and I love it. WASD was super easy to use, as every other game I have played uses it. Currently in act2 Poe1, and I am constantly fighting the keyboard wondering why I am not moving. I want to sink a lot of time into Poe1, but idk if I can keep going.

+1
+1 i agree to everything said, just give us basic wasd movement, my wrists will say thank you.
I want WASD movement in Path of Exile 1 too.

But if they're adding that to POE1, it means POE2 isn't really a separate game anymore.

Eventually, both games will be merged—probably once the new 3 acts for POE2 are done.

How will they merge them? By reworking everything in POE1 and bringing it into POE2.

The code is already in the POE2 files; they just need time to update and adapt it.

So POE1 will keep getting new seasons, but that content will show up later in POE2, with changes.

To put it simply: POE1 is now basically a testing ground for POE2 updates.

They separated PoE1 and PoE2 long before WASD was a thing for PoE2.

If you didn't know, PoE2 was supposed to be part of PoE1 and be just a separate (second) campaign with a shared endgame between the both.

They went away from that idea due to PoE2 becoming its own thing and they didn't want to break PoE1.

This was waaaay before WASD - at that time both games worked solely with click to move on PC.

So no, WASD in PoE1 is very unlikely to lead to a remerge of the two games, as WASD had nothing to to with the separation to begin with :)
Also the characters movements are still very different in both games, even with WASD controls added.

Kind Regards
