I cant find a clear answer if both are going to be together or is Mercenaries of Trarthus its own league separate from the normal softcore hardcore SSF etc

Secrets of the atlas is the expansion of the game. New core content that you can play everywhere.
Mercenaries is the league, so you can't play it in standard league

not what i asked. i asked if Mercenaries of Trarthus will be in Secrets of the atlas. Normal as in 3.26 not normal as in core

Your choice of words is confusing.....and I do believe the previous guy responded correctly.
Secrets of the Atlas ads content to the CORE game, meaning you can play it on your standard characters. By extention, this content can be played in TEMPORARY leagues.
Mercenaries will be the TEMPORARY league mechanic. So...yes, Mercenaries will be in Secrets of the Atlas, but only if you chose the temporary league.

Secrets of the Atlas is going to be PoE.
When 3.26 releases, you will not be able to play PoE without playing Secrets of the Atlas. Secrets of the Atlas will be present in the existing Standard leagues.
Mercenaries of Trarthus is a challenge league, and is referred to as such in the 3.26 Patch Notes. It will be available much in the same way that Settlers of Kalguur is currently available, with its own set of Trade/SSF and Softcore/Hardcore leagues.

no 3.26 isnt core. core is going to have Settlers as the complete city. the 3.26 league (which is core plus the new stuff) is labeled as Secrets of the Atlas then they also announced Mercenaries of Trarthus so when you play Secrets of the Atlas league like 3.25 is called Settlers league will Mercenaries of Trarthus be in that lumped together or is it exclusively a ruthless mode thing or something else. thats the question you guys are not thinking.

There is no "atlas league". Secrets of the Atlas is the Expansion Content thats the actual core state of the game. You cant opt in our out of this content, its everywhere.
Mercenaries of Thrartus is the actual temporary league, which you can opt in to play.

3.26 comes with two new things: an expansion and a challenge league.

Ok that is stupid lol the branding everywhere is Secrets of the Atlas not Mercenaries of Trarthus. but Mercenaries of Trarthus is just Mercenaries while Secrets of the Atlas is the content. I guess i only started played 2 years ago and i never saw anything like that because the name was also the league and Mercenaries of Trarthus feels like a footnote.

Expansions are always coming with a minor league addition. Which makes sense if you think about it for 2 seconds.
