My excitement for 3.26 kinda died out

Pause has been a requested feature for over 4 years since it was introduced in PoE 1 as part of Ultimatum league.

Pause is a PoE1 feature.

But since it is also in PoE2 some members of this community feel the need to all of a sudden be contrarian just for the sake of it.

Baffles the mind.

Apropos of nothing, a PoE YouTuber I follow released a video today providing a brief tutorial for PoE Deuce players who want to try out PoE in the new league. It was a pretty good tutorial, highlighting the differences between the two games.

Shortly thereafter, he removed the video.

Odd. ='[.]'=

Who?

Here's the problem. I am subscribed to a bunch of PoE related channels, but when a poster removes a video, even if you have a comment on it, there's nothing to go back to. All I can tell you was the title:

7 Key Differences Going From PoE2 to PoE1 | Guide for New Players Coming from PoE2 | Path of Exile

And even that gets you nowhere. ='[.]'=

Although I don't have any problem with the "qol" being announced, they do seem damn pity even for an announcement. It looks like GGG is trying to get a VIP ticket for the champions league final by begging.

Honestly I do expect REAL qol changes for poe1 that involves cutting down time from clicking and micromanagement.

Clicking and looting multi items or auto-pick up, auto sending all the stackable items from inventory into their perspective stash tabs, or crafting routines described above, are the real QOL changes every1 expects.

Frankly, I welcome the qol announced but literally nothing really affects me, except maybe the horizon change a bit (although probably needed for ssf).
A pause button that can save a portal and probably get broken if some1 joins your party? Ooook thanks...
Space for 16 maps that i usually end up keeping them in my inventory mid league? Ooook thanks...
Horizon changes. Decent one, ok thanks.

Beggar GGG

So far both "QoL" shown in trailers change NOTHING. It barely is worthy of talking about. The REAL QoL is something like itemised Alva temple/Harvest juice, breach splinters/harbinger currency dropping in one pile, being able to delete beasts in bulk etc
What they should do is take every single league mechanic in the game, think of one thing that feels bad in that mechanic and add QoL that removes that bad thing.

"Barely worth talking about"? Pausing the game on demand is huge for players who juggle IRL interruptions. Not everyone plays in a vacuum, being able to stop mid-map without wasting a portal or logging out is real quality of life, especially in a no-pause ARPG.

You're already able to sustain these kinds of maps like crazy, but more often than not, RNG screws you over, like getting way more Baran maps than any other, which messes with smoothly rotating those for Maven.

That usually means either slowing down or diving into the joyless task of trading just to keep going. And yeah, that often means whispering 10+ people until one finally feels generous enough to sell you a couple maps. Sure, it's not the biggest deal in the world, but cutting out that kind of annoyance is a big win, because trading maps sucks, and now it's just a click or two to fix bad RNG and get right back to mapping.

The QoL in the trailer might not be the flashiest, but to say they "change nothing" is wild. Streamlining clicks, reducing downtime, and letting players play more and manage less that’s the core of meaningful QoL.

You're absolutely right that deeper mechanical fixes are needed too. But that doesn't mean these smaller updates are worthless, they're steps in the right direction, and dismissing them just because they're not your top picks misses the broader impact on the player base.

For real. I mean I'll play it but damn, 1 year without an update?

Jonathan isn't making sound decisions IMO.

I actually forgot about this part. This one is actual QoL. The pause and "map device inventory" means nothing to me. If I needed to "pause" I were just using portal and waiting in HO.

SUPPOSING they don't nerf the current drop rate of those maps of course. Because if they decide to make those maps 90% more rare, because of the added new qol then its going to be a rly not needed and useless added change
