this is a horrible look.

Chat moderation in poe has been known to be erratic, arbitrary and heavy handed for a while now.
In the past you could just ignore it, getting muted from global chat isn't that big of a deal.
But since about early 2024 (i think) getting muted also comes with ingame punishments, severely limiting your ability to trade, this is obviously a huge issue.
I'm not quite sure what motivated that change but if that's how it's going to be, moderation at least has to be fair, and perhaps issue a warning for a "minor offense" instead of swinging the hammer on random and sometimes innocuous comments.

Poe chat is pretty fun (at least it used to be), poe players are usually pretty mature and you can have some pretty interesting discussion, which yes, can include some banter and possibly some NSFW jokes. But hey, it's a game, we're not about to start a riot or any such thing.
I'm obviously not saying there shouldn't be any moderation, but overly moderating is kinda of killing the bird here. Chatting is a fun community aspect of poe, why kill it ?

I do agree. It's gotten pretty pathetic, I was muted for something ridiculous, not pushing any boundaries at all. I was watching the forum all day yesterday since I quit playing and saw these freezes and deletes. It's not the right direction, although I read somewhere that Diablo 4 used to have a global but they had to shut it down? Maybe there's other online forces or laws developing around these issues that causes liability issues so nobody is allowed to have fun or speak spontaneously. Again it's wrong, but we recognize it, so we can't be too surprised.

edit: I'm noticing some deletes today, I had myself edited for being too negative, it is rather obvious what triggers a removal especially when you repeat the exact words that got you muted in the first place.
