Extremely Disappointed with GGG

Been supporting the game for a while and for the past few years the support and GGG responses to stuff has been outstanding however lately its feels like its been all downhill.

I know that poe2 was bigger than anticipated and that's been slowing everything down but honestly I kinda feel like they are just going to give up on poe1 and the original fanbase. Its going to be a full year by the time poe1 gets its next league.

also now for the largest tier yearly packs the post is only one option and its absolutely absurd. I checked with support and it is intended that post to Australia is $186 USD for 1 shirt, 1 hoodie and a art book, thats almost $300aud and AUD is one of the stronger currencies in oceanic so they have basically turned their back on any loyal supporters (in the oceanic region) who liked to save or buy the packs bit by bit to get to that tier to support their favorite game. I cannot fathom how the only choice now is to slap damn near 50% extra onto the cost of packs if I just want some cool memorabilia shipped.

It's clear they don't care because whales will just pay it anyway but I really did think GGG was different but I guess thats on me

Whales will just pay?...

You're talking about a purely optional supporter pack.

Nobody forcing you to buy any of this stuff.

You can support them purely by buying points for the Shop.

sure but the issue isn't that I can't the issue is that its a kick in the teeth to supporters to have post suddenly cost that much. post used to be basically free and you just traded some points for physical rewards which was neat and a feel good of getting special merch to go with the game you enjoy and support.

The way postage works now is very recent and its not like its been a long term.
I had just bought the previous years big pack and then two weeks later get the poe2 big pack except its nearly 50% MORE expensive just because of post if I would like to have some nice merch. I know its optional but without supporters there won't be money for the game so throwing them to the side is just sad.

making the only postage option extremely expensive kinda just excludes basically anyone who isn't near America unless they want to pay a ridiculous postage fee. you can't tell me $186USD sounds reasonable to post a shirt, a hoodie and an art book.

Respectfully, I think you've just found out that you had, in fact, contributed significantly less to supporting Path of Exile than you may have previously believed.

Looking at the Challenger supporter pack from back in the day, GGG charged $110 USD for it, didn't pass on sales taxes e.g. VAT here in the EU, and didn't charge for shipping.

Imagine the number of people who paid online (minus credit card processing fees), bought in-game through Steam (minus Valve's 30% cut), were based in the EU (minus VAT of maybe 23%), and then... y'know, actually manufacturing and shipping the t-shirt.

To be blunt, I wouldn't be at all surprised if GGG made losses on some individual transactions. While the shipping fees seem high and it definitely sucks to be stuck dealing with them now, I think it was inevitable that they'd one day decide to stop covering them.

The supporter packs are supposed to fund development of the game; in some cases it seems that GGG were ending up with a tiny cut of the overall transaction which is kind of insane.

I can't help thinking there's an alternative universe out there where you learn how expensive shipping items to you had been all this time and post to say thanks to GGG for them having covered the costs for so long. I've been as critical of them recently as anyone (e.g. no recent PoE 1 challenge leagues; Lorem Ipsum in that 3.26 teaser), but there's a striking lack of gratitude in your post and tbh it makes me sad. A lot of companies would've never done it for any length of time...

my main issue is lack of postage options as the only one currently seems to be a priority post, im used to spending $50-100 maybe even $150 in some cases for stuff but there would definitely be other cheaper postage options. the older post stuff seemed to be the cheapest slowest it may or may not get there post around with stuff arriving up to a year later and it made sense we didnt pay anything for it (I also only pay through their site so no steam tax). And I get why its changed and I don't have an issue with paying but I feel like theres gotta be options somewhere between them just fronting the cost and chosing the cheapest post around and only giving us the most expensive possible option. If I check say ebay for postage from the US for a hoodie its about $22-$50 usd.

All I want is some other options because there is no way $186usd is the only option for a company to post to Oceania
Fair.

Right now you can't support PoE1 because everything is going into PoE2.

Maybe wait, until PoE1 is back on track.
GGG has the worst support ive ever dealt with
