Imagine 3.26

Patch 0.3: "We've sped up the gameplay a couple of notches, lessened the need for constant combos and made the passive tree actually matter. We've also quadrupled the attack speed of every melee character". POW! They just doubled their player numbers.

Yep, as (I think) it should be, as a sequel. And "more like" does not equal "the same".

Who would think making new game simillar to old one that was considered the best game of its genre is the recipe to make it popular.
Who would think that trying to make it into a weird hybrid of soulslike will make people checkj it out once just to forget it exists (like with any other soulslike)

Everytime I try, I black out.
Well after todays announcement of PoE2 race events, I predict 3.26 won't start before those events are over.

That means it won't start before 13th of June. (8th is the last race event)

PoE Deuce race events.

Let that sink in. Remember what all the Deuce backers had to say about PoE being too "zoom-zoom?"

Yeah. PoE is "bad" for being what GGG MADE it. So is Deuce. ='[.]'=

Honestly, the more I hear Jonathan and Mark talking about how they develop the games I think I start to understand how PoE turned out the way it is right now. That makes me happy and also sad at the same time. Because If I understand them correctly, that means that PoE was partly an accident and only works the way it does because it doesn't arbitrarily limit players potential.

With PoE2 however, they try to limit player choice and power at every corner and put in walls u can't overcome unless GGG designs it that way. That I think doesn't work well with their development style. (which is "throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks" basically)

POE1 died for this, its a bad joke at this point.

Spoiler

Let’s be real, PoE1’s numbers did the exact same dive once the hype wore off.
Acting shocked now is just revisionist history. We’ll see the same pattern play out with the next PoE1 league too, big spike at launch, sharp drop within a week, then a slow bleed after week three.

Nothing new at this point, people try the new stuff, get their fill, and bounce to other games. It’s the same cycle every time, not just for PoE2 but for the entire genre, tbfh.

My give a fuck o meter is pretty empty at this point.
