Not another ExSea is quitting POE thread - TLDR I'm loving LE

As a player that has never hit 40/40

I'm actually surprised, especially as you have at least 1 level 100.

The first time I did it was just to see if I could, the second was to prove to myself it wasn't a fluke (and never feel the need to have to again)
Yep, totally over league play.

Don't be; I just don't care about them. Hell, some leagues I end with challenges like "Use a Chance Orb on an item" undone.

thats a level of uncare that i find refreshingly good.

i ve been over enthusiastic about this game for the longest time. my FOMO was over the top.

it does highlight why sometimes our opinions dont align tho as we come from 2 directly opposite point of views/experiences.

Yeah, I view PoE1 as a sandbox. A playground where you as a player can find your own fun, and where you don't feel 'forced' to do a, b and c like the forum police and the youtubers tell you to. We need to chase the goals we want to chase, and not necessarily the goals GGG, the forum or the youtubers tell you to chase - and challenges have always seemed stupid to me.

And while PoE and GGG use FOMO as a tool, it's very possible to not give a shit.

tl;dr

Asked ChatGPT to sum it up ;)

"The author expresses deep disillusionment with Path of Exile (POE), a game he played and financially supported for over a decade, realizing in hindsight that he tolerated many frustrating design choices simply due to a lack of better alternatives. After switching to Last Epoch (LE), he found it far more enjoyable thanks to smoother progression, rewarding crafting, and less punishing systems, despite its weaker graphics and class limitations. He criticizes POE for its reliance on trade, excessive friction, and outdated design philosophies that prioritize grind over fun. While he still appreciates POE’s boss fights, music, and emotional impact, he feels GGG has lost direction and no longer makes the game he once hoped it would become. Though he admits he might return someday, right now there's nothing in POE that makes him want to play again."

PoE 2 copied a few things from LE's endgame and made me smile/laugh when they revealed the PiE 2 endgame back in december. Also chat in PoE twitch channel at reveal day spammed (paraphrasing) "LE endgame","LE maps", etc.

-Towers = Beacons
-The way the endgame map looks with these connections
-Corruption (reverse here bit still)
-Lost map rewards when dying

Fun Fact about it : This is also why many people who love PoE1 hate the PoE2 endgame.

GGG was brilliant in inventing an original mapping system for PoE1 that surpassed anything created in other games of the genre.
While they had a unique opportunity to create an even better endgame system for PoE2, they settled for copying content from another game that is struggling to retain its players...
@Phrazz

NGL, GGG really cooked with the latest patch. i probably will skip the league but will probably come back to try out standard. the amount of stuff on standard alone is enough for me to check it out without needing to farm anything significantly
