Should the recombinator odds be increased?

really want to bump one of these threads - the odds are too low. when you do succeed on a reasonable try it's a rare item with 2 mods - essences and regals are no help so making midgame things doesn't make much sense to me
if you want T1 flat defense and T1 chaos resistance on a chest that's 14% if you want T1 flat and percentage physical weapon less than 5% you get 1/6 chance to "salvage" a T1 from 6-mod with fracturing orb and some annulments it's probably optimal to try that instead, which makes the recombinator really feel bad, because the time and effort to store and sort items needed is compounded by the acknowledgment that i'm only doing this because i do not have the currency required for the "better" way i think the feature would feel fine if combining two T1 mods was 20-25% chance with maybe weapons around 15%, item base hopping attempt with T1 + garbage mod is currently around 50% that could go up as high as 80% and still almost noone would bother. i'm aware this can impact the economy or whatever - i'm imagining some additional cost implemented to switch recombine mode from pure gambling to reasonable chance recombining is in concept a fun way to start a craft but in practice just a very slow way to clean some room in stash |
