things in LE that make me resent POE a bit.
LE is getting down to around 70% of its players and it has been less than a week. This is in spite of efforts by streamers to give it the 0 criticism Ziggy D treatment and funnel a bunch of POE2 players into its grasps.
Not only that but LE forces you to use steam client, so this is literally everyone playing the game. With POE2 i have no idea what the numbers are. Surely higher than LE Last edited by Glowie_Zigger#5018 on Apr 23, 2025, 7:58:07 AM

" thats how ARPGs generally work. im not saying its a super valid point, its contextual to the comment i was replying to. " perhaps they actually just enjoy the games systems more than the ones poe2 currently has to offer. are you suggesting that there is some grand streamer conspiracy in favor of LE? where is it organized? telegram? discord? jeffs island? seems more likely that LE just doesnt frustrate them nearly as much as POE2. Wish I could love LE but something feels cheap while playing it. Cant put my head around what it is that bugs me. I seriously want to. I changed my review to not recommended, 3 days now cannot load my character. Login pick char starts loading and just sits there for several minutes then FAILED to Connect. Nah not like this...
It has a lot going for it but in the time I played which was only maybe 8 hours had rubberbanding, disconnects, areas seemed very copy paste even though big. Things I did like, did not need a PHD in NErd to make a build. Char got ARPG powerful fast loved that. LOOT...take a note GGG...LE has LOOT. It was getting more fun the more I played it until I no longer could. Crafting....way less casino than POE2. UPGRADES... O M G....GGG take a moment to notice...IT WAS fun to have items drop that improved my char. Last edited by rhalbhub#0570 on Apr 23, 2025, 8:12:25 AM

" its not a perfect game by any means but they do a LOT of core things WAY better than POE2 does. |

It does look like POE is banking more on its past laurels atm and LE is the new innovator type. But I hope that both games do well and there is a healthy competition between the two.
I am absolutely an ardent believer in the game being hard despite that I am currently loving LE coz it's lag free, has many innovative features and great quality of life. It's quiet refreshing actually. I would have played POE more too even in its current state except that out of 600 hrs of play I have had may be 5 hrs of lag free game play and currently my desire to to play POE doesn't outweigh the slog and lag I have to face (this per say isn't a criticism as it could be coz of my cheap ass 1060 gpu). Somewhere between LE and POE there is a perfect game for me and I hope as time goes on there is healthy competition between these two games making both of them better. Can be a win win win scenario for all participants. |

" So, you would like Path of Exile to be more Last Epoch than Path of Exile? Porting in and out due to inventory limited space implies you do drop loot, which makes your loot argument pointless? Because the current inventory size is not 1x1 to justify that you dropped only one thing and call "bad loot". Identifying, in a way, adds a layer of curiosity. How long does it take you to clear PoE2's campaign and then PoE1's when the league is just released? Sure PoE1's will be shorter due to movement skills, but by what amount? Not taking into account second character because usually you would have Seven-League Step which currently is not in Path of Exile 2 or any equivalent. I consider floating damage numbers a mobile game design, or very distant as a concept for what an ARPG should have. Crafting will be ever improved with some time, they cannot just put at every moment new methods, and cannot make them fully deterministic either. How was first iteration of Last Epoch in terms of crafting? Still sky level in comparison with what PoE2 now offers? I do agree to a point with map overlay, but that is only applied to certain maps I encountered where they are just "too bright", at least the surface, but for others maps I think is just fine, not very different from Path of Exile 1. "Bruh... The LE season had a peak of 150k, and in the following week, at this time 110k. That's 74% playing. PoE2 0.2.0 had a peak of 245k, and in the following week, at this time 185k. That's 75% playing. PoE2 0.1.0 had a peak of 580k, and in the following week, at this time 450k. That's 78% playing. Do you know WHY these numbers are how they are? Because the drop in all examples is "weekend - release - peak" compared to "working days". For all games, the numbers go up and down in huge jumps because most ppl have to work. Wanna see something cool? PoE2 0.1.0 peak 580k and 305k on day 19. That's 52% playing the game. PoE2 0.2.0 peak 245k and 85k on day 19. That's 34% playing the game, with a downward trend. ![]() [Removed by Support]

Ok so its the same goddamn thing for both games, except one game is "Fucking amazing!" and the other is "NO REDEEMING QUALITIES".
I'm not playing 0.2 anymore either its still better than last epoch though Last edited by Glowie_Zigger#5018 on Apr 23, 2025, 8:39:09 AM

"Dude... I presented it to you even with a fancy picture... It's not the "same" for your argument. You tried to make the point that LE lost 30% already, when the timeframe you chose is flawed because these "up and downs" are just what happens to every single game in existence, thanks to "free time" and "working days". The more precise indicator of "how well something is performing" was the comparison between PoE2 0.1.0 and 0.2.0, which shows you "in the same time period, 18% more ppl peaced out of 0.2.0 with a significant downward trend.".
