for johnathan's fun or players?

Jonathan is one of the core founders of PoE.
That said PoE1 is mostly, if I'm not mistaken, Chris Wilson's child.
Jonathan clearly has his own VISION™ for the game, which is not not not what the community that grew around the game during almost a decade wants to see.
PoE2 initially was meant to be an update for an old game, not something completely new and definitely not what it is right now.
So there IS a problem with a personal touch of one of the devs. It's not a new game, it's a game that is where it is BECAUSE of the players that supported it for years. Newcomers don't understand it.

Devs way of thinking even in the smallest changes made to the game kinda shows that they don't really understand how the players think and operate. Saying "it's fine" doesn't do good for anyone.

Newcomers don't give a flying doodoo about the people who've stuck with PoE 1 for years only to watch it slowly die for........this.

Doesn't matter to the ppl who like PoE2's "vision". They get something they enjoy and don't care that it's nothing what it should have been.

"Slowly die" ? what are you even talking about... it was doing great and would do even better if everything in PoE2 right now could just go into the old game. The good stuff I mean.
Did you ever play World of Warcraft? Somehow Blizz didn't have such bright idea to make a new separate game for every major expansion/graphics update, while they made tectonic changes within the game over the years with addons. Despite what some people say WoW is still their golden cash cow and still a great game to play. Same would go for EVE Online and some other games that stood the test of time. But I guess learning from others is overrated, so much more fun to make own mistakes.
PoE 1 was sacrificed at the alter of PoE 2. And PoE 2 isn't even a good game

Or more people would quit because it's PEO 1 again and GGG would be left with POE 1 number of players. You all can kid yourselves as much as you like with "knowing how successful it would be" just because you want "that" game and not this one but at the end it's just speculation.
The best solution would be to leave Jonathan and one intern working on PoE 2.

Update the graphics of PoE 1 and add in WASD then move Mark over to PoE 1 as game developer/lead dev.

Then just move all the other employees on to the PoE 1 team.

This way Jonathan can create the game he wants to make, and the rest of us can focus on a game that is actually good.

Simple question to ask is this game meant to be fun for players or johnathan?

because to be frank its not fun. as a casual i have failed a level 60 area trial of sekhemas 5 times now and have no coins to attempt again. And at this point of the game at level 74 i have died 118 times due to lack of good drops and defenses. So are we actual having fun?

-1 for the title of this post. I do not like that it's a personal insult.
I am genuinely having fun with this game. I cherish the challenge which campaign represents for a fresh playthrough.
This challenge can be circumvented by experience, knowledge, and trade.

I personally love the boss fights and try to do my best to skips/clear mobs as fast as possible to get to the next boss.

I have probably died over 1000 times due to my lack of skill, my desire to learn boss mechanics, and my willingness to test strategies.

Personal insult? Really that is the best you can come up with? Sand in the head?
