Worth starting SoK now?

Hi. I have been playing PoE2 for a while, tried different classes and builds and it made me wanting to get back to PoE1 just because so much features Im missing so far (I have no doubt PoE2 will be superior game in time). My question is, is it worth it to start Settlers league now, since it is going for quite a lot of time. Any word on when the season ends? And do you know/think this league mechanic will be included in standard? Thanks a lot

Depends on how reliant you are on trade. The league is more or less dead, and has been split into several events as the league went on. If you're fine with not counting on trading, I'm sure the league will run for at least two months more.

No word on when the season ends, no words about the mechanics going core or not. There are no words about PoE1 at all, so come to think of it, it's probably not worth jumping into a game the developers don't care about at all.

No words at all you say?

We would also like to share a tentative timeline for the 3.26 expansion. We are looking to launch the expansion in June, so you might expect us to begin talking about it some time after the end of Legacy of Phrecia. We have solid plans for 3.26 and we’re sure you’ll love it. Stay tuned!

"We are looking to...", "some time after..."

You're right, sorry, let me rephrase; there are no solid words or dates, beyond their usual, vague hints. If they had "solid plans" for 3.26, it wouldn't have taken this long. There's nothing "solid" about their planning these days.
Thanks for your answers. I don't mind not be able to trade, I was thinking about ssf to get back to learning all the crafring mechanics. Two months is good enough time for me. I hope it will go core, I haven't played myself, but saw some feedback and seemed to me that most players liked it a lot
I started Phrecia real late thinking I can afford to delete a std mule and remake her to level 80 (she was originally 75 and born in std).

I liked things enough to get to 92 and hit 12 challenges - so I think there's some value even in starting now, but like others said, the trade portion isn't very active so you'd either be SSF or in trade but mostly ssf anyway.
Yep, totally over league play.

Pretty solid if you learn the obvious wording of GGG. They already announced more than enough information regarding PoE1 at the start of this month, but seeing some people here talking about "silence" or "no words about PoE1 at all" it's clear that some simply don't even read the update posts at all lol

after the end of Legacy of Phrecia

The event is not done yet so obviously there won't be any news regarding PoE1 as mentioned.

Unlike usual where they specify which part of the month they don't have a set date yet. But June gives you more than enough information for your remaining questions about how long the current league lasts, and around what time the new league hits in. They usually cut it down shortly before the start of a fresh league, so 1 1 1/2 more months.
Regarding the league mechanic going core or not, that has always been announced prior or during the time the league ends, so we are not just there yet.

Being all impatient and demanding ain't gonna speed up the process of something that's already scheduled for a specific timeframe. Lol

I'm not impatient, I just don't trust what they say anymore (and I find it odd that anyone does). You obviously do, which is fine. But they have shared words about it, and I was wrong. But until we have an exact date, I'm claiming my right to be pessimistic. "After the event" is as vague as it gets. September is also "after the event".

They've also written this:
"
After many days of internal discussions, we made the decision to not launch the 3.26 expansion for Path of Exile 1 this year. We’re looking to announce this new league in early 2025 (think late January) however we have to remain flexible with this window as releasing an entirely new project can come with challenges that we cannot predict.

Things happen, shit gets delayed, clearly by several months at a time, so again; their words are one thing, their actions are another. So until we have firm date and an actual reveal, I find it more or less naive to "expect" smooth sailing.

Why are we complaining that there has been "no words"? Kinda a clear sign of impatience. Lol

I don't know about you but I just read the obvious news, get my information about it and play something else in the meantime, instead of getting all annoyed and frustrated about not getting any further informations, or claiming that there are "no news" especially after they already told a rough timeline for further news and specifics almost two months ago.

Guess it's just really unfortunate for individual who are dependent on just a single game and full of fomo.

I'm still playing Settlers. It's a fun league, and very rewarding. It also has the distinct advantage of being PoE 1. Get going, Exile! =^[.]^=
