Suggestion - Rework the Temporal Chains map debuff

Maps with Temporal Chains are the worst experience I've had playing POE2. And it's not even because they make maps hard - I like challenging maps, and I don't think temporal chains makes maps any more difficult. It's just miserable.

I'd personally love to see the temporal chains debuff reworked. For example, what if instead of a persistent Temporal Chains debuff, the map modifier said something like "Monster hits apply Temporal Chains"? you could beef up the magnitude of the curse too, I don't care. Anything other than a persistent debuff, please.

I think they just need to get rid of it in general (including trials)

I disagree with "monster hits apply temp chains" because pure armour or pure ES players will be hit way way way too much too fast to avoid getting omega slowed.

Its like we're running maps with chilled ground. no one likes it and it doesnt make the combat or experience more "meaningful" or whatever the fu** Jonathon says

Seconding this, I just ran a map with it and it was absolutely terrible, rolling through molasses like wow
I actually wanted to post suggestion about Temporal chains too.

What if Temporal Chains would affect enemies as well, basically the entire map becomes a slow mo experience ? :D

Hoo there wanderer...
Not understanding GGG decisions around a number of map modifiers, temporal chains probably being the worst. But enfeeble, sped up enemies, large resistance reductions are all relatively terrible. Couldn’t recall what they were last season but weren’t as memorable as these.

Players don’t want to arbitrarily lose that which they have spent hours, days, weeks…trying to build up, just because there had to be a map modifier there because well because.

Temporal chains probably feels the worst because you can literally see the effect. And then get a rare that has a temporal bubble and goodnight to 15% (or whatever it is now) of your XP if you aren’t tanky.

There's absolutely no point to do that.

I suppose OP didn't play PoE1 and is relatively new to this, debuffs like these are normal and expected. You are also supposed to ignore maps with bad rolls or rolls you don't like and reforge them (or do them later if you feel like it)
Tech guy
It's yet another anti fun mechanic. Most people complain about slow move speed yet here some genious thought why not make something that is even slower to entertain players.
The existence of the temporal chains debuff in its current form reveals how far from the concept of ‘challenging but fun’ GGG has strayed. I very much hope this is an oversight due to overwork rather than something GGG will retain.
bumping because I'm pretty sure the "Temporal Bubble" affix on rares ignores any Slow Resistance/Immunities (a Pathfinder's input would be helpful).
They should buff Temp Chains to disable movement except for dodge rolling. I expect to see this fix by the 0.3 update.
