Gear drops are mostly for other classes
It seems like most the gear drops are for other classes than the one I'm playing. It's been like this for a while and I'm curious if this is intended.
When defeating a boss or hitting milestones throughout the campaign, the better gear that drops is for a different class. The rewards for progressing are lacking in my opinion. This leads to low-end gear being used. My preference is to avoid the trading mechanic since it seems silly to buy gear rather than earn through gameplay. I'd like to see bosses actually drop gear for the class you are playing. Last bumped on Apr 20, 2025, 11:30:50 AM

Drops aren't class specific at all, it's intentional.
They are still valuable, you can get a juicer and sell it for some stocks or use it on an alt. Class specific drops wouldn't work anyways. You can very much use Amazon skill/items on something like a deadeye ect. People are heavily sleeping on builds like this btw Last edited by JODYHiGHR0LLER#6171 on Apr 15, 2025, 8:14:26 PM

" Yeah. For players that prefer SSF like me, there's 0 value on all these drops. In fact, it's slightly frustrating. I don't care about trade since there's no in-game auction house and I don't care about "alts" since this is not how I play the game. I wish we had class specific drops in SSF. It just makes sense. |

Each character can use any item or skill gem, items are not tied to classes. This is the soul of POE.

" Great. Because as a dex based Huntress all I want to see is giant mauls and scepters 🙄 Like, this is just stupid. If they want all these trash items to matter then there needs to be an auction house, in the game. And remove SSF as well. |

It's intentional, and if you think it sucks now (and it does), just wait until they add the rest of the weapons to the game and the loot pool gets even more diluted than it already is.

Yes, couldn't agree more. The only way to progress is better gear really and the only way to get better gear unfortunately is to trade. So now the game becomes finding things for other people, use an outside addon to trade with people, hope they are on when you are on, and then buy the new gear you need because you will never find it or craft it.
For the person that doesn't have all day to spend grinding for gear for other people and selling it gets pretty frustrating. Plus, the prices keep going up on any quality gear because anyone who has time to grind is then forced to buy their gear as well so drives the prices up. It's nonsense and frustrating as all get out for casual players. |

There is a difference between having loots only for your "class" and "having mostly loots for your class"
For me in PoE2, because of the few loots in the game, we should mostly, loot stuff that you could equip. But I have the feeling, we have the exact same probability to loot the type of weapon you carry, than any other weapon. And thats a problem imo !!! |

You're playing 1 class out of 12.
It's only natural that 11/12 (~92%) of the drops are for the other classes... |

It doesn’t look like GGG took into consideration the diluted loot pool prior to the 0.2 release. A Diluted loot pool along with inefficient currency drop rates is gonna leave a lot of people feeling stuck and hopeless - which is the absolute worst case scenario for a progression based game.
