Are you guys having fun this season?
This is a class balance issue probly.
I've played witch and warrior, in that order. Witch was very difficult, but it was fun- just really hard. Warrior is about 10x easier. We're talking bosses died in a minute or two, vs 10. I don't really remember how long it took me on witch; but in my memory it feels much much much longer. I also died, way way way way way more, at least 10x more. That is to say, I heavily suspect the game is not balanced all that well between the classes atm. |

If by fun you mean being lvl 86 huntress that has failed the 3rd sekhemas/chaos trial 17 times...still playing is my bad, what GGG did to the game is all theirs

I'm having fun, not noticing all that much of a difference honestly, far from the doom and gloom I'm seeing everywhere.
So far played a Ritualist with bow and tamed beasts, it's doing alright. And now I tried an Infernalist with spear, doing fairly well so far with it, just hit maps. |

" ^^ This... I played 500+hrs in 0.1 and had tons of fun. I stopped playing my 88 Monk as I had zero interest in single-tries on pinnacle bosses and figured they would change that eventually (and they did). 0.2 I've barely made 50 hrs and I'm just not feeling it. Mostly because the little wisp event is just not enough of a seasonal mechanic to make re-playing through the campaign worth it. So I scrapped my re-roll Monk and went back to my 88 Monk to try the new atlas changes, but I found myself having to drop down several tiers to reliably make progress, which feels really weird because the gear dropping is way below what I'm wearing. More essences, and obviously more omens from Ritual, but I can't keep a breach open for long enough to earn anything from it. So I rerolled a huntress, and had some fun replaying the campaign with the new class... respecced lightning spear and watched it unrewardingly faceroll T4s spamming one button with garabage campaign gear and just facepalmed and logged out. I really don't know what is off about 0.2, but it's off. I think it might just be related to investment/committment... becuase we can play our old characters with new patch but they feel bad/nerfed... but playing our favorite class through new campaign feels boring with no league mechanic... so it just sort of doesn't feel worth it... which is not the same thing as it being *bad*.. it's more that I feel im lacking meaningful incentive and feeling of progress. |

Same here.
There are many issues but Simulacrum in 0.2 is what broke me as you cant do it even the first tier because its that overtuned. And i did kill every pinacle boss most of them in T4 version on a 300 div minion build. Yes I did strugle like mad on T4 versions that 1 shoot all my minions and had to kite for 15min with 1 minion but i did it somehow. But Simulacrum is not posible to be done. Its content only for couple of broken builds.... It was bad in 0.1 to but in 0.2 its you cant do it at all. |

Yes im having fun ingame, poe 2 is quite unique compared to other arpgs out there and thats the point. Once the gameplay will be trivial and just about setuping character to the point it ignores game mechanics like in other arpg games, i will not have fun at all.
If the game will give me all items when i need them and make my character strong so much that i wont lose, whats the point of playing arpg at all? That way i can just play some easy action games and watch how they carry me through. Most of players these days just refuse to solve problems ingame by themselves, they use walkthroughs and every other option they have, just to make the game easier for them... ofcourse playing like that will not make them happy, because they didnt archive anything in a game by themselves and theyre just being carried. Sorry but i just dont understand how can someone expect fun from a game which they actually refuse to play by themselves. |

Fun? its been..ok. its not great. loot and upgrades are far between. Not interested in the trading so its abit of a drag. i probably have close to 5 full days of playing the game since Dawn of the hunt and ive gotten 1 divine.
Acendancy trials are trash and honestly makes me want to Alt F4 instead. I hope they redesign or remove that shit from the game. ive gone trough 3/4 of them but the whole honor system stresses me out. and if i go trough a bunch of arenas and fail late and have to start over again its more likley i will get pissed off and close the game than actually try again. Why do we have to go trough such bs just to play the class we have picked properly. Id rather have just bosses to kill and be done with it or some other solution. The Campaign is on the slower side. i think it would be okey ish if they actually had the last 3 acts in the game but going trough the first 3 over and over at this speed turns into more of a drag than fun. Theres plenty more of things i could list but most have already been mentioned. Hope it gets better. | |
Did not have fun. Much worse experience than 0.1 for me. Burned out very quickly (barely made it through whole campaign)

So I just completed the campaign for a second time and have enjoyed the campaign the second time because I was twinked and running LS and clearing the screen at level 28.
There are some things I love and some things I really hate. I love the usual ARPG power spikes when getting a build really working and the hunt for gear replacements and crafting gear that I can use. I also have enjoyed the mapping mechanics like Expedition and Altars which have been really rewarding with items I can use to build my character and make them stronger with new gear. Running the Audience with the king for the first time was great and really exciting.... Wait.... wrong patch. In 0.2.0 I got 1 Audience with the King on a reroll of the alter and could defer it. There was not power spike for anything in the campaign. I could craft gear because there is no crafting in POE2. Exalt and chaos spamming in not crafting its gambling and its a crappy what to try and craft gear early on. I still only have 22 atlas points after I do not know how long. 300 shards for a key is just not fun and only inflates the price and time it takes to gather then. 1 stack drops are another annoyance that isn't needed. Just let that shit be auto looted OR make the a minimum of 2 and increase stack size with Map tier and juice. Map crafting is just boring. I have to craft 30 maps, regex for rarity and quantity and burn off the rest because they are worthless. the removal of the micro stuns was nice. Thank you GGG. making the maps so big and me still having only 25% move speed boots was not fun. Roa was a nice idea but making it so you have a 5 second stun if you get knocked off is just frustrating. Dying because of getting knocked off because of a Corrupted spawn under you leaving you unable to dodge or move is NOT good game design. It is not challenging its just annoying and its one of the biggest reasons for me quitting. Why bother getting to the end game when if you happen to kill a pack of mobs that bum rush you and then you get corrupted swarmed and locked in place, its guaranteed death. That's not a challenge, that's bad game design. This happened so many time I cannot count and its the main reason for quitting. It is not fun to be stuck and unable to move because of a mechanic. If that shit is intentional then I will not be returning to POE2 anytime soon. Map juice locked behind towers, forcing you to hunt for 3 towers to get good quant to get good loot... That's just boring and a massive waste of player time. ARPGs are about running maps constantly and at speed with little rewards dropping and making the sounds we all know and love. Its about fighting bosses a few times and then farming them endlessly for loot and carrying other players. Its about building a character and having fun. I do not know what happened with patch 0.2.0 but the fun just... vanished. The campaign first time was murder. I kept hoping I would get stronger and just kept getting disappointed. the act 2 boss was so bad I have to go power level and come back. The hotfix for this is what made it playable. Well done on recognising that and thank you for listening to the players. I get that building something like this is hard and you need to experiment and try new things but I genuinely do not think any of this was tested or though out. "Okay lets make towers the way to juice maps and then super juice them with emotions and deli." How many dead maps are there where there is no loot and no rewards until you find one tower? "Wait... one tower doesn't reward anything meaningful. the loot from the juice of one tower with perfect tablets is bad! We should boost that." Jonathan: "No that's what I want. A slower game play that is painful. The player has to invest the time to build up a character over weeks and months during a patch. The game play and combat has to be difficult and meaningful." Its not difficult and its not meaningful. Its slow. boring. Annoying. You have to work to have fun for a few maps that then endure more boredom to do something fun again. I have rambled on enough but I just cannot play this anymore. If you cannot make your vision fun to play then... good luck. You will need it. |

The problem for me, from a hcssf players perspective. You can't imagine your upgrades. You can have a piece of gear with 90 life and 30 of 1 res and you might need to farm exalts/regals for an entire week to reasonably expect to upgrade depending on what piece of gear it is. weapon/shield/boots all 3 are a huge pain in the butt.
In poe1 you are constantly grinding stuff like essences/harvest/delve to farm the crafting mats to make upgrades. You can imagine in your mind. I need to farm jun until i have 3-4 veiled orbs to make my boots. While you are farming those veiled orbs you're also farming gravicious and harvest+essence. I need to farm 20k yellow juice to reforge chaos to make my rings. Poe2 you are just farming regals and exalts no matter what you are doing in the game. It is literally the same thing. No matter what you do that is all you care about unless you want a boss unique. Those are also completely rng. Destructive play was the best thing to ever be added to poe1 for me in particular. I love having a farm that has a loop to it. On leaguestart you make a character, your first goal is to get to maps, once you're in maps now you're pushing tiers while upgrading gear. Once you get around 25 points you start to be able to invest into mechanics as you evaluate what gear pieces need upgraded. You start incrementally upgrading items using whatever crafting method you like. Once you get your character/build online on a basic level you start pushing red maps. You get to red maps and my goal is to get at least 1 %life reduced effect of shock jewel. Once you spawn eater you kill him, then your next goal is exarch (if you're a potato like me hes not easy in hc unless you have at least 500k dps.) once youre at 2 voidstones you are pretty close to having the atlas for full destructive play. You start working towards your maven 10 way while upgrading gear. Complete the 10 way and youre cruising. Time to farm destructive play. do more 10 ways with destructive play on until you have around 10 shaper/elder maps each. upgrade gear before doing twisted/formed rotas. If you can do phoenix on destructive play you're cruising to kill shaper once you get 4 frags. Maybe drop some awakened gems along the way maybe not. If you get the right frags on your first kill you're good with 2 shapers and 2 elders. If not good thing you farmed harvest early. Throw in uber elder and maven and get all 4 voidstones. After that you can work on being strong enough for t17s in hc or prepare to farm sirus if you need a thread of hope or awakened orb for items. Farm up cb immune jewel with % life. Once you have a char that can do t17s in hc (haha) you can do some of those and give ubers a shot. Poe 2 league start. Get to maps. Run maps. Waste all your currency trying to make items. Realize that whats really the point of farming any boss unless they have a specific unique you need. Realize whats really the point of any of it because nothing matters because you cant really build defense or damage anyways. All of your defense/damage is based on rng drops. You have no agency over the gear your character has unless you just have a ton of time to play. Having the individual mechanics atlas trees separated kills it for me. Because all you are doing is mapping early on and nothing is really helping you progress until you get in high tier enough maps to farm the boss invitations. By the time i get to t15s all of my motivation dwindles away every day. I probably completed around 50 t15 maps before i just cant do it anymore. This takes around 2-3 months in poe1 for me. For the love of god please whatever you do put the 8 or so devs back on poe1. Dont put anyone that built poe2 back on poe1 please. If you want this game to be this way where a lot of people don't enjoy it(like me) let poe1 be our game. |
