If this were reddit you would be deleting your account after all the mass negative likes. 0.2 WAS BAD. LE wasn't even on my radar before people were talking about it in GLOBAL. I didn't need Ziz to even mention it

You personally went and verified that each and every one of those 0.0 play time reviews had play time in 0.1?

No one is beholden to a game. Not even streamers who built their career around it. If the game isn't good (which right now poe2 is ROUGH) then people dip.

As far as the announcement, Last Epoch go in a direction all POE veteran want to go ; Fun, fast, crafting is good, spells do damage, scaling of monster and boss is infinite, DOPAMINE drops.

the thing about LE vs PoE2 is the huge difference between dev approach ...

its "our players were asking us for X so we did it" vs " the VISION" ...

i have a distinct feeling the GGG lost the understanding of one of the most basic and most crucial aspect of game development - the goal is to provide the gamers a product they can ENJOY not an artsy project for themselves

Game design is not a democracy.

Listening to people means nothing, as every fanbase large enough to get the game a sequel is going to be split on game design decisions, especially in a genre like arpg. Not to mention, majority thinking sth is better, doesn't mean it is actually better.

LE is going to do you dirty sooner or later too, they can't please everyone.

Also, while I love PoE 1, the anti PoE 2 hysteria leads to massive overhyping of both PoE 1 and LE. Also, if PoE 2 was from different dev, it would be praised to heaven for depth, promise and potential.

Just artistically, PoE 2 (and 1) is leagues ahead of LE, it's like a painting vs teen girl magazine cover, and unfixable for LE, no matter how many polygons they throw at it.

Bought it and refunded in first 20m. What is the draw? Graphics blow, no WASD mode I could find, the talent tree looks like every other ARPG in last 20 yrs.

hmm i would think a smaller studio craves success and wide appeal, needs the cash to survive so has an interest to actively please their customer. no point stubbornly sticking to a vision if you cant keep the lights on.

we seen it time and time again once a studio has enough money to cover costs and turn a profit they start to not really care what the customer thinks anymore

from a dev point of view they likely think they can do no wrong and the success they had reinforces that.
I dont think its any coincedence that things start to fall apart once the devs are financially secure.

thats why gaming is becoming what it is, the small passionate studios once successful are bought out and its all about money from there on out.
mtx, dailies, achievements, quarterly numbers, keep em logged in,...in short busy shit.
