Zizaran: “Worst patch ever” — then promotes Last Epoch race days later

"
Ziz publicly slammed 0.2.0, calling it “the worst patch ever.” Then just days later, he announces he’s sponsoring a major cash race for Last Epoch.

Here’s the video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gMhgjZGaT8s

The timing feels coordinated: stir discontent in one game, then pivot to a monetized event in its direct competitor. Welcome to the new meta: outrage, then monetize.

Because hes human...the one game he was hoping to be enjoying is a huge disappointment and it was honestly foreseeable. Also cause POE1 is being hindered because POE2 isn't cutting it and needs the entire development team to feed for a vast minority. Not sure why this is even being said on feedback it pertains nothing to the development in POE2.

GGG is doing a good enough job destroying this game on their own, you dont need to look to tin-foil hat theories for other people doing it.

Pretty much, yeah.

They seem to have forgotten that games are supposed to be fun and while some folks i am sure enjoy the extreme scarcity, ruthless like Path of Exile experience i reckon more of us really do not.

I don't mind difficulty when it makes sense and isn't artificial padding or gating but why would i spend more hours playing this game when i can pick up an alternative or wait a week for Epoch's new season and actually have a better time playing a game that has skills that feel good to use and loot that actually drops?

Reinstalling LE as we speak! I loved it a year ago. I’m ready to give it another go! Looking forward to having some fun again…

Man, the stories you people manage to tell yourselves are legitimately f'ing off the charts.

Like, do you genuinely occupy a world where you can reasonably imagine leadership at both GGG and Tencent evaluating player activity and revenue metrics and collectively agreeing to reallocate the studio's resources to the project that "isn't cutting it" and represents a "vast minority" of players -- knowing full well that doing so would upset PoE1 fans (which I assume you think is cutting it and represents the vast majority).

Guy, really? How? How do you think this would happen here on the planet you live on? Tencent paid more than $100M for GGG. You really think they're going to sit back and be like "Yeah, dude. Totally. Put everyone on the game that's 'not cutting it' and represents a 'vast minority' while pissing off the majority of your players. We actually all met and decided we don't like money anymore."

I hope some day you get healthy enough to feel profound regret and embarrassment that you made this post.

And those kind of takes come from people with well over +20 challenge points in poe1, so far from new players with 0 knowledge about the game or the company. I even saw in another thread a guy with 40 points claiming to be unable to progress beyond Act 1.

I've come to the conclusion than a big amount of the people that frequent places like forums or reddit are just obsessed to a certain degree with their game/community, so they inevitably come with those absolutely deranged, unrealistic comment. What's even funnier is that everybody here hated Last Epoch until very recently, now every mention to the game is of praise and excitement and the haters are nowhere to be seen.

Stuck in the moment they live in. Next month they will be all excited for the new PoE1 league, Last Epoch will be bad and everybody will be crazy to play Poe2 0.3, then drama again, the never-ending cycle of the obsessed gamer.

I’m not saying PoE2 is perfect—far from it—but the level of negativity we’re seeing feels way beyond honest critique.

They absolutely review brigaded 0.2. You can look at the negative reviews in Steam and see that at least 50% are from accounts with 0.0 hours played this patch.

Last time I said this someone tried to correct me that "some people don't use the Steam client but are still entitled to review the game" so let me just clarify that all of the reviews I saw with 0.0 hours played in this patch had logged hours in 0.1.

I'd wager my house a huge percentage of the negative reviews in 0.2 are from diehard PoE1 players who were pissed off by GGG's decision to focus resources on PoE2 and delay PoE1 content and they were just biding their time until 0.2 to retaliate. It's the best explanation for the % of reviews from people who have double- or triple-digit hours logged in 0.1 and zero hours in 0.2 yet made it a point to leave a negative review in Steam for 0.2 -- and most of them parrot the same talking points.

I'm curious as to how you are seeing the amount of hours played "per patch" on steam reviews. As far as I'm aware you can view "recently updated" which are just reviews that have been updated.

If you click on a review you'll see how much they've played in the past two weeks. With only two releases you can assume any time before the last two weeks it's all from the first patch.

poe2 need rework to be playable again, meanwhile i will be waiting in last epoch
this is the worst patch, Ziz is telling the truth
all you can blame is GGG who nuke their own game
