so after the dawn of the huntress patch I've logged into an existing character and was offered free respec of the passive tree. however when started doing this I've noticed some of my jewels that were socket in passive tree were missing (primarily unique jewels) and they are nowhere to be found (not in my inventory, not in the stash)...
is this a bug or have those jewels been removed from the game and that's why they are missing?

I'm on PS5 if that matters

„12 Jewel Sockets have been removed from the Passive Skill Tree. Existing characters with Jewels in these removed sockets can reclaim their Jewels to their main inventory using the new /reclaimjewels chat command.
Banning people for abusing something that was clearly not tested before going live is only masking the real issue which is not testing the game before going live. I am in favor of banning players for cheating and stuff but lets not forget this is still early access, WE are all paying to test your game for you.

Nonetheless GGG should still do a better job at testing the changes. Or do a closed test with a selected players to test a patch before going live, something close to what Blizzard do with the PTR before a new season.

I believe it is disproportionate, if you discuss something that was not forced, only using the mechanics that were in the game, it is considered an exploit, so if there is a problem, to the extent that using what is in the game will be considered an exploit, I believe it is not, but common sense would say that the players were gaining an unfair advantage in the mechanics, so I think there should be punishment, but I think a ban is too much.

Reset the season for these players and give a 5-day timeout, they will start all over again and then they will get a flag (yellow card if it were soccer), if they do more things of the same type, it is characterized as intent and then it is a red card (expulsion in soccer), so it is a punishment and a nice warning not to keep up with these "innocent abuses"

If you want to distrust me for trying to rationalize, I suspect that you do not like rationalization, my dear exile.

that thinks, does not leave unpunished, leaves the authors on temporary suspension, leaves them marked to monitor if they will cause problems again but it is not an extreme final punishment.

Game creators added tablet that directly says "you can reroll favours endlessly" and now they are banning players for rerolling endlessly :D This is ridiculous!

Ban for free defer items, not for reroll.

Could you explain ? GGG did't specify defer exploit.
If there was an exploit on defering items and they are going to ban people for doing this and not for rerolling why they don't inform about it and avoid most criticism about bans ?
In the past few days I criticized GGG for the constant crashes at login, I also pointed out some aspects of the game I was displeased about, and when I saw the video about the ritual abuse method I chose to wait and see what their solution will be and decide if Im still gonna play this game or straight up uninstall it.

And just like I criticized them I want to give them credit where credit is due. I think the decision to fix + remove the wealth generated by the bug + punish the abusers is absolutely the right call, despite this situation being GGG's mistake as well, this is what it takes to repair it.

Now I hope that everyone that farmed legit/got lucky with a very valuable item and sold it to someone who aquired the currency from the ritual abuse loses that currency but gets their item back.

And I know they said they will ban players that abused it, without mentioning if its perma or temp, imo since this is a mistske on GGG's part, even if the players who abused it knew full what they were doing, I think it would be best if they got a temporary ban for the entire dawn of the hunt league and a warning that if they do something like this ever again next time its a perma ban, but thats just my 2 cents on it, ultimately its up for ggg to decide how hard they will punish the players and even if they perma ban them I won't feel sorry for them.
I mean really, what did you guys expect when you put that tablet in the game? Did anyone actually sit down and try to test it out a bit? Surely your own designers could have foreseen this. I understand that there was a rush but LITERALLY the first question I would ask if someone proposed that item to me in a meeting is "How are we going to make sure this doesn't turn into an exploit?", and the second one would be "Why don't we just do something that's less likely to be broken?"

Breaking the game is what your players DO, it's the name of the game since the initial releases of PoE1. Exploit or not, it's your responsibility as devs/designers to actually do your due diligence on this stuff and you definitely didn't in this case. For 0.3 just delay the patch if you need more time, don't subject us to this level of unfinished, broken jank again please.
Why are the exploited users not banned AGAIN! Has cheating recently become cool with you? You are just making yourselves look ridiculous... A big single disappointment...

- to those whining exploiter who are getting banned:

Saying you shouldn’t be banned because the item "said" you could reroll is like robbing a bank because the vault door was left open and then claiming you were just "testing their security".

I don't exactly know what happened there, I RIP all the time, but if this was put in the game by devs, I think a good comparison would be this instead:
You give a 2 year old a loaded gun, he shoots someone, and then you get angry at the 2 year old he shoot someone.

I dunno, mixed feelings, if I found a big red button saying "BECOME RICH" perchaps I'd also push it. I kinda feel like there's some trouble with QA in this game.

That said, not gonna take a stance, not like anyone cares anyway. I just don't feel it's such an obvious case.
Good job getting rid of the people exploiting and trying to ruin the economy for everyone else, the less of these people there are the better.
"we are currently in the process of banning those who abused it and removing the wealth generated by it from the economy."
