I'm now at 4250 base thorns damage... x4, so 17k burst damage with Rapid Assault. Why the Chainsting? Does it bring anything to Thorn dmg?

" Unless you want to break even more armour (and thus need a high phy weapon) we don't actually need a high damage weapon naturally as the thorns do the damage. As such chainsting has both free maim and pinning and a higher attack speed. It's a very good weapon that can take us all through the campaign you we want. I have since switched out because I did want more armour break on Rapid Assault. But you certainly don't need it. |

You should use a detonator skill to take full advantage of the Rapid Assault.

Not sure if you knew but the unique spear 'saitha's spear' works wonder with thorns due it triggering bleed via thorns which lets you scale thorns damage with bleed damage modifiers. I think there's something you could do with that.
