Blasphemy Only Works in Weapon Set 2

I am trying to use blasphemy with temporal chains, but I can't enable it. If I click the check to have it enabled on weapon set 1 the ring starts spinning on the skill showing that it is enabled, but it does not give the aura or reserve the spirit. If I use it in weapon set 2 it turns on and works. I don't have any attribute differences across the weapon sets, and swapping the actual weapons between the sets does not change the behavior. Completely swapping my allocated weapon set points, spirit allocations, and weapons to be the exact opposite worked as a work around, but ate my gold. Just really wacky, even when I had 100 available spirit I still couldn't make blasphemy turn on with only temporal chains in it. As a side note, temporal chains not being in the occult section of the gems is goofy.

Similar issue here. In weapon set 1, blasphemy reserved no spirit and had no effect despite being activated. It indicated on the skill menu that it was "missing a socketed skill" even though it had one.

But for me all this was only for SOME curse gems. In weapon set 1, L14 blasphemy would not work with a L14 despair or a L13 Temp chains but it did work with L11 despair and L5 enfeeble. In weapon set 2, L14 blasphemy works with all of them. Like OP, I moved my weapons around and had to burn a lot of gold respeccing passives to do this workaround.
