Smith Of Kitava "Temper Weapon" Skill AoE (Combust) does not work
" The combustion damage is based upon attack damage and the crackling quarterstaff still deals lightning damage so in this case the base lightning damage from your crackling quarterstaff will apply to the skill, if you then socket brutality on temper weapon the combustion will deal 0 damage, correctly. I have sanity checked this (just in case) and it indeed deals damage. If there is a specific scenario where you think this isn't dealing damage let me know and I can take a look. |

I am also experiencing no damage.
my setup: - lvl 3x character in A3 normal. No uniques / wired stuff. - 1h mace in first set, 2h mace in second set, i am using 2h mace default AA - no supports for the temper weapon skill - resolute technique (100% hit chance, no crit keystone) observed: - hits deals same dmg with or without tempering, despite, by the tooltip it should more than double dmg of each swing. Tested on multiple enemies and amount of hits needed to kill is the same with or without buff - some skills (shield charge) consumes all enchanced counters - some skills (molten blast) consumes no charges (there is no limitation to meele attacks in the tooltip) edit after further testing: - I've removed second weapon set, moved 2h mace to first weapon slot - no change - When hitting a monster in a pack, nearby monsters are also not damaged (used 2h mace AA skill), despite being clearly in the explosion visual see video evidence: https://youtu.be/jFJ7cAWBQXo Last edited by ethylparaben#0181 on Apr 7, 2025, 3:11:48 AM

the hitbox for TW combust very inconsistent. Either the detection is not really circle in shape or the combust "hit accuracy" is not "Cannot be evaded" (although im using resolute technique)
I have tested using just normal mace strike too. it almost seems like anything which is not behind the monster you are aiming for, will not get damaged by the explosion (cone shape detection maybe?) I have no comment about the combust damage, the mace strike seems to deal most of the damage (combust barely do anything most of the time) Last edited by Ymanz#2884 on Apr 7, 2025, 4:36:17 AM

" I socketed Brutality on my Quarterstaff strike, not Temper Weapon. This was to isolate outside variables, chiefly to make Temper Weapon the only source of possible damage for easy testing. Temper Weapon doesn't have anything listed in its modifiers that would preclude it from dealing damage in this situation, so I would think that this test was valid. Combust triggered by Temper Weapon does 0 damage.
I have also tested this extensively, very carefully to make sure I'm not triggering some hidden mechanic. I am using no support gems, no auras, no damage conversion. My weapons are flat physical damage weapons. It is very clear that combust is not doing ANY damage. |

"Combust" triggered by Temper Weapon does nothing. Please fix.

" Please check again. When I picked this up on my 2nd ascendancy I tested it with Mace Strike. I took my weapon to an area I could reliably hit one mob in a small pack and watched as only the mob I hit with mace strike took damage. You get the visual, you don't get the hit/damage. |

" Without any additional support, the damage dealt is the same whether the enchantment is used or not. This enchantment is indeed not functioning. |

" Please check it thoroughly! I used nothing but the default mace strike with temper weapon (and a white mace to be extremely sure!) on regular white mob packs and Combust still did not deal any damage to either the target or the surrounding targets. Like others have said in this thread, you can see the visuals and VFX but the AoE itself does not deal damage. |
