If they only needed one portal per boss then they're critical thinking was just fine. It would be people that needed to invest more time into learning how to play or how to build that had this issue.

why would you think this? PoE1 and PoE2 has a ton of support gems that aren't used because they aren't worth using. I honestly don't think tencent doesn't micromanage balance. I think they're more worried about macro problems like release dates & player numbers.

Nah, most of the player base are casuals that just use made-on-the-spot build that barely support them through the campaign. You can't nerf that.

Then you have the real build makers that will find new way to make build with the next set of rules. The only ones that are in distress now are probably the ones that just copy meta build as they won't be able to do anything during the frist 2 weeks after the patch.
