A bloated uninspired hit point sponge.
A total waste of my time. I stopped fighting him after 8 minutes and 80% of his health bar still there. What crap. Never do it again, ridiculous waste of my time to fight it. Those were 6 level 5 sailors i just lost , representing hours of game play hundreds of thousands of gold , for what . What is the reward if i win from this asshat. garbage top down garbage! You need more damage. I guess the strategy is to avoid the fight if u encounter it too early, not sure exactly what level that would be.
The rewards are pretty good. 60k gold and high level runes. Maybe something going on with your build where damage was bad for the fight, usually it does not go for that long. He has a decent amount of health but nothing over the top. I guess if your build is very good at farming gold in maps and less so at bossing it could be worse than running a map. I'm pretty happy to get it when it spawns though. Haven't had him spawning much recently. |

" It's not solely about damage. On my old scion with only 250k dps gimped FB build I could just take a pixel off his bar for 30 minutes; it's not hard. GGG has been steering more and more into gimmicks over substance in design. Everything under the sun needs a one-shot in the blink of an eye, or twenty invuln phases to counter people with high dps. On top of the reward being dogwater (50k which is about 10 minutes of mapping and some runes people don't care about) it's just rng. If you fail, you won't have another shot at him to learn it, or timely enough to keep learning it. Most "players" just look up a video on youtube and 77m dps build guides before leagues even start, and it's a shame that a game is designed around people who don't even really play the game, but are renting someone else to through them. Again, dps might be their main issue, but it wouldn't solve bad design... because invulnerability phases and off-screen waves and geysers, the latter which can spawn under you before procing in a handful of milliseconds. Take for instance Catarina; garbage boss, bad design; main issue is it's not intuitive and the game offers no logic. Invuln phase, totems, afk in glowing area to... destroy totem... before moving in time to not be one shot, makes sense. And they keep churning content out like this. It's not fun, it makes no sense, and the only strategy is to just use out-of-game resources. Proposal: If GGG want to design bad bosses and cheap content, then stop giving them invuln to prolong staring at the "work" they put into it, and let us just delete them to skip the poorly designed and obtuse fight entirely. Cheap v. Cheap. Also, more dps isn't a fix for the design when the design is to counter power creep that led to 100m dps builds being used by 2 people that they designed bosses health pools and forced invulnerability, and obtuse attacks, around them even though the overwhelming majority of people will be a fraction of that. I don’t recall ever having an issue fighting him, even early on. He was by far the most pleasant Kingsmarch boss for me.
Map boss - takes forever to spawn. When I got 40/40 I had seen him twice, running t16 map runners for days. Starfall crater - fight lags every damn time he starts his laser. |

Nothing wrong with that fight. He gives decent gold too when you kill him.

" If you are talking about your SSF Phrecia Character, I can see why you can´t kill him. Its up to you what and how you are playing but your build has some major issues and I´m not shocked you can´t deal damage to the pirate boss :P |

The build is fine , https://youtu.be/anVZ-5gzkeE T11 red map clear character should eat the pirate, who just took a boat of level 6 sailors. that cost 200,000 gold for a 50k reward.
