Skill tree refunding problem (bug 3242218934, 2784033104)

Whenever I try to refund skill gems in this area of the tree, the changes will not "stick" much longer than 30secs or so. But Doryani is certainly taking my gold (so much gold it is no longer even vaguely amusing).

Additionally, there is weirdness after making changes, in this starting area of the skill tree (screenshot: https://i.postimg.cc/htWyybq8/image.png - the less illuminated path is path which is the path being changed away from).

When it gets into this state, if I go back to Doryani and select Refund Passives again, it resolutely displays the less illuminated pathway as being chosen. It allows me to re-attempt to move the skill points to the illuminated path in the centre. Charging me every time, but never actually changing where the skill points are.

Does anyone else have experience with this? I have not encountered this behaviour before, and it's extremely frustrating. Any resolution ideas are acceptable at this point.
