This event is not good for the games health. This event was a broadcast of false marketing. how are you goin to make POE 2 and say its a slow methodical game and have the first event be ULTRA exclusive with a false premise of everyone can try to win if they are good enough. Plus making a speed run event with only 6 winners in a supposed slow methodical game is pathetic. Rename the event to shield charge and leap percent.

Horrible event. They just frustrate players. How do they make the event completely unbalanced and ruleless? Only one winner? Each class has its advantages and disadvantages. There's no balance there.

Next time, allow a reward system for people who don't finish first.

This would give a reason for the general populace to care more about the race. Even better would be to create a tiered system, with levels that range between extremely difficult (first place), to finish the race at all (assuming a competitive time limit is set), to attempt and accomplish some % of completion (incentive to compete at all).

I don't think the problem is the reward itself.
I personally think and have always found Act progression races a bit boring and dull. Endless Ledge was the best and most fun race of all time. PoE2 actually needs some unique race like Endless Ledge that is something different than the core game, way different.

Of course tryhard racers want Skill level to be the factor to decide the winner - that's why they prefer Act progression, so they maximize and predict everything.
However the vast majority of PoE players prefer RNG based Races like Endless Ledge. I personally do not care if someone got lucky and surpassed me in a race... I just want to experience the unknown fiesta gameplay.

For the game itself this is new, so there is still no issue with this particular thing, but just like in PoE1 the act progress races were heavily dominated by one superior class over everything else for the first few acts progress. That was the case with Leap Slam several years ago, then all of a sudden Witch dominated everything cuz mobility and Brand skills.... holy Brand skills...

Yea, so in PoE2 isn't any different. Warrior is gonna dominate right now until GGG decides to release something more broken, keep in mind most of the classes and weapons are YET to be released.

The game isn't even done yet... half of it is "Coming Soon".
