Acrobatics is beyond borderline Bad!
Today I illuminate how the "Acrobatics" keystone in PoE 1 has in fact 0 benefits.
In contrast to most playable keystones, while presenting a drawback, give a reliable buff, which outweighs the drawback through reasonable investment clearly. How regular spell suppression works: Spell suppression suppresses 50% of any spell hit. If I have 100% spell suppression chance, then I suppress all spells by half of their value. how dodge mechanic works - 75% (at absolute best) of the time, I dodge a spell hit completely. However this applies at every single spell hit randomly, meaning that if I get unlucky vs a giant spell hit then I die instantly. while potentially an alternate playstyle, it becomes useless against spell hits that I cant possibly survive, or you have to consider that you can get an unlucky streak against multiple spells which also means death. How could it be fixed? 1 Remove the unnecessary 75% cap, its already hard enough as it is to gain 150% suppression regardless of this cap. 2 Change the cap from sp. supp. chance conversion from 0.5% value to around 0.75% while changing the dodging mechanic to suppression, but at 75% spell prevention rate, not the default 50%. You could additionally change "Acrobatics" to "Arcane suppression" or something else. 3 Adjust as necessary, If its still too good. 4 All done, now everyone can enjoy this keyword. It still has a draw back, but atleast its not a de-investment for players, since it offers a way to double down on a mechanic or an alternate playstyle. I also suggest placing those who have more mathematical skills than lore creativity for the creation of the game's mechanics. No offense intended. This keystone is incredibly strong when used correctly: as a source of damage avoidance.
It doesn't do the same thing as spell suppression, by deliberate design, because suppression is a form of damage mitigation. I'm not sure you understand the game's mechanics as well as you seem to think you do, if you're directly comparing these two things which were never intended to do the same thing. A far better comparison would be dodge to spell block, as those two fill the exact same role in a character's defenses. Last edited by ARealLifeCaribbeanPirate#2605 on Feb 25, 2025, 12:57:50 PM

I'm pretty sure the point was, "something not being common doesn't mean it isn't incredibly powerful in the correct use case."
But we're way past logic in this thread now. |

This game has so many different builds and nodes like Acro is a key part in these builds. If we remove all kinds of wierd nodes from the passive tree then you have Diablo 4 tree branch.
