Relic system is trash
The atlas passive tree is kinda boring early on but the relic system didn't really solve it.

I had a lot of fun maximizing shrines. Automatic shrine buff every 10 seconds that lasts for 60 seconds + shrine effect + putting shrines on map that all give double shrines. My 5+ minute to kill quest eater/exarch sad build can crush anything fast in maps and acceleration + echoing shrines is great when it pops. The apparition shrines with a phys build would be insane with shrine effect on a phys or phys conversion build. If this was a new new league I'd be playing a ton more.
Pack size stacking, fast harbingers/blight, and rituals where you can basically take everything sounded cool to try. It's too bad this wasn't a fleshed out new league in itself because this is going to greatly hurt PoE 1 in the future. The event is already dying even though it's good stuff (for SC market where idols are available, non-SSF obviously.) I love the event and I'm just about done with it because I already played Settlers. I have nothing left to do. |

" You're just too damn fast man, lol |

" Its nice to be able to really stack things up to a point that we didn't had before, but the set up is worse than the atlas tree where you are basically forced into the Shaping nodes for progression. I've been farming t3 for hours, only 1 T4 dropped in that time. I have every single relic possible in, I'm just dropping t3s. Also I don't really like the idea of the big need to trade to do certain things. It can take you ages to get an Offering of the Godess on your own, at least with the tree you can spec 3 points and they are more common. Its just not good tbh. Maybe monday they will check on these things to make them a little bit better. |

I like the idea of the idol system. But when it's a double RNG fest, it's a little bit annoying. Dropping an idol with more than one stat benefiting your plans is close to zero. Getting an answer when trying to buy an idol also seems close to zero.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

The point of the idol system is the thing people complain about, but also the reason this is just a fun event gimmick and not an official game system. If you play it from a SSF perspective and just run maps and wing it with some of the crazy idols bonuses you can find, it's pretty fun. I wouldn't want this to be a core system (unless it stacked with the atlas tree), but I like it. If you are just buying exactly what you want day one, obviously you are going to run out of things to do pretty fast, so maybe stop that. I'm looking forward to playing for a couple weeks and gradually building up a few OP idol setups.
Also complaining about "playing Settlers again," it's going to be awkward for you when that goes core. Stacking additional mechanics on previous mechanics is how this game works, the only Settlers mechanics you "have to deal with" are the free packs of monsters on every map, how terrible. |

" THIS. This is 100% truth. With all the combinations possible is pretty unlikely to get 4 things that benefit you, or even 3. I think the best thing to target the things you like to do is probably try to get magic idols with two things that you want. And even that sounds really hard and stresfful. Anyway, I got to 80, got the armour set. I'm gonna wait till monday to see if they do something with the system. Otherwise is the end of the event for me. I'm looking foward to play the ascendancies in a private league without the idol system for now. |

" That is not going to happen. I'll keep playing with the new ascendancies. Theory crafting, exploring and building new builds will always be the most interesting part of PoE for me. Also, the potential of crazy farming strats with the idols is also something I want to explore/experience. So when some strats are being found out, and idols reach several divines, people will answer the trade requests :P Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

" This is really the wrong way to be looking at it. Almost all the mods will benefit you, even if they aren't lined up perfectly. Getting a razer focused atlas strategy revolving around one or two mechanics will be very difficult, but getting a smattering of idols with highly beneficial stats for 4-5 mechanics is pretty easy and can be accomplished in one night. In basically a single evening of mapping I self found an idol set with only like 2-3 wasted mods in the grid total. There's a few things in there I don't necessarily want to focus on but are still rewarding to do, and I should be able to fairly easily swap those out soon. It's extremely easy to get a very good and very rewarding idol setup that blows the atlas tree out of the water. It's extremely difficult to get a "perfect" idol set, but that gives an endgame goal to pursue. You shouldn't be or want to be at a "perfect" state immediately, that bypasses the point of the mechanic. There's a worthwhile grind there for obscene rewards. |
