Announcing the First Path of Exile 2 Race Event
a race event that give like what 6? 12? 18 **MTX rewards**!! at max ?
who's idea it is to do anything that bad, you know better than us how many players are in poe2 and this event is for less than 0.1% of them ? Everyone gonna hate it, can you hire someone good for those event in the futur ? Because the more event like this gonna pop and the more players gonna leave it's a surprise for nobody that kind of event is more of a sabotage than anything... |

I guess it's the thought that counts. Maybe a consolation prize (weta pet or something?) for anyone who kill doryani?

Dear POE2 Team,
i just trained the speedrun for the event pretty often and there is ONE big thing, which could be fixed before the event. the matlan-waterways in act 3 have a narrow-system, where you cant run through mobs, which is fine. but if you die, you have to do it all over again, cause there is only one checkpoint, kinda late in the map. for any other point in the game thats fine, cause usually you get back to your position quick. but here: its a nightmare, especially in a speedrun, where you are neither tanky nor have the time to search for the best defensive items. Pls add 1-2 checkpoint to that map before the run starts. :) |

I would like to add some suggestions that I think will help to make the event more inclusive and improve outcomes. I am an avid speedrunner and enjoyer of speed run content for over a decade.
As of right now, the race event sounds tremendously fun to me, but the problems emerge from the finite nature, and the target goal. 1.) The start time as a hard-start needs to change. There is no ability for people to start at a time AFTER the initial 'gun' time. It wouldn't be hard to implement on GGG's part. Make a character and click a box at creation that says "timed" or "speed-run entry." After a run is recorded, you could run a new attempt if you wanted, but only your best time would be retained. To take it a step further, you could have 'splits' or times for each act, or even each boss/zone. The best part about this is that it would incentivize EVERYONE, not just the grinders, to compete against THEMSELVES, a staple in the speed-run community. Additionally, it would provide TREMENDOUS returns for your QA team in terms of balancing, timing, and data analysis as you proceed through EA.By pinpointing areas where all or some classes are zooming or tombing. 2.) Runs need to occur throughout the week between the 'event' moments with the same mechanics. Each week needs to be treated as a separate event where even the current number 1 time can resubmit a new / better time for the main event (acts 1-3). If you did decide to split each section or boss, then these 'prize targets' would need to be recorded and submitted as partial runs automatically rather than as your submission run. At the end of the first challenge period, your times would be locked in. Players would only be able to view splits or submission times, not 'update' or beat them. This would bring the event to operate like a week-long league. Players would only be able to compete against it, never 'beat it' or replace that one event's times. Player times would only record for the current event time period. I feel that implementing these two small changes would change the mindframe of many participants, and make the goal competition against self, provide more opportunities for players reward on a smaller and more achievable scale (imagine giving a divine to all players who manage to submit a split for act 1 under 20 minutes, or other mini-achievements). Furthermore, dividing the event into week long events with a rolling start gun gives all players equal access to the event, and allows for FAR more data gathering for the betterment of EA. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. Last edited by Invictus2010#0610 on Feb 28, 2025, 4:56:56 PM

all these days tried to join these events, but with no success because it was too early. Today it shows that "Entry to this league has closed" even for race 2 and 3.

No, no and no
An event made only for big players and veterans. It's nice GGG to exclude a good part of the community. There is not even a small consolation prize for the participants. The elitist mentality of this event is quite disgusting. Very disappointed and not happy. |
