Announcing the First Path of Exile 2 Race Event
Oh fantastic, A event for streamers, No prizes for participating or nothing, What a waste of time.
This is a very very poor attempt at keeping people motivated for another month, Absolute shambles. |

Im actually amazed of how TOXIC path of exile community can be, every single complain in this thread is just pointless or lacks argumentation.
This must be so emotionally exhausting for workers i can't even. Lucky those players only represent a very tiny fraction of the real playerbase. |

Speedrun event for 6 ppl, and the winners are already known. At least RaizQT will shoutcast and he's a very good esport commentator.

" How is it toxic? This event gives no rewards to literally 99.999% of the people who will try it, only 6, and theres not even a participation cosmetic to be like "Yeah, i competed in the first poe2 speed run challenge" Its out of touch, and if you want to be a ball licker, go ahead, but this isnt a solution to multiple months of next to useless updates, nothing of substance, and radio silence. The community has been left in the dark about this "vision" yet what do we get? A month of "Heys lets run a speed run event for 100k people with only 6 rewards and zero incentive" |

" I could mark your entire post in red but, this will do. You guys make my life so easy. |

Please dont stop the poe 1 event for this, you already did that with the league and you saw what happened.

" Honestly have to agree. Old poe1 had RACE POINTS and you could earn something for getting decent placements. But #1 is going to be sweaty as hell, going to need to practice your ass off for that. No thanks. | |
This is nothing short of an insult. Players are paying to be glorified beta testers for Path of Exile 2, forced to deal with a broken mess of a system, and in return, they are completely shut out of something that could and should be a community inspired competition. Out of hundred of thousands of players, only a few can win. Six if i understand it correctly. That is not a competition. That is a handout to the same top 0.1% the game is already being designed around. One could have at least set a timer for everyone else to beat so the rest of the community actually had a chance to participate in one way or another, and could have thrown them a friki'n "thank you for participating" digital poster, or something.
It is quite sad actually. The people who paid to be part of early access are being treated like disposable lab rats, good enough to throw their wallets at GGG and test the game, but not worthy of actual participation in a community event in a meaningful way where a casual player could have had a chance to make an impact together with the rest of the community, and the top players would have been winners regardless. Extremely disappointing, and how GGG couldn't foresee this community backlash is beyond me. Last edited by TheUnevenGooses#1996 on Feb 20, 2025, 10:19:42 AM

I understand this "race" as a reward for streamers for cooperating and advertising GGG. Its completely disappointing for US, the players, that supported POE right from the start way back in 2012. How can we even afford to play 24/7 for reaching the goals. We simply cant. We have a life to live. A job to do. A family to raise. The state of gaming in 2025 is just pathetic. Its all about profit. Thank you.

Jack of all trades, master of none.
If you try to do too much, you will achieve nothing If you chase two rabbits, you will catch neither Don't spread yourself too thin Try to do too many things at once, and you'll accomplish none You can't have your cake(POE2) and eat it too |
