[Removed by Support]. This game is in early access!
Diablo 4 beta had 0 retention because it stopped being a live game after 2 weeks, and was less than 20% of the game, maybe a clever marketing tactic. Poe 2 has released 12/36 of the classes, and alot of other core parts of the game are still in development. Of course they won't fix everything now, they haven't even released the game yet. People are comparing this to a fully released game (D4), that's just a disingenuous discussion. At least GGG are still live supporting their games and ironing out issues in POE1. Activision-Blizzard don't support their games long term, except WoW but you have to pay live Sub for that $20 per month. Mind you GGG has been bought out by Tencent, so TBC if they turn into a filthy greedy marketing company like Activision-Blizzard. Last edited by Cameron_GGG#0000 on Mar 6, 2025, 9:25:42 PM

" Diablo 4 at full launch had even more terrible retention. 90% people played campaign and uninstalled on Day 1. " You can compare to POE1 launch. It had much better retention, while also had 3 acts and nothing else, not even endgame! |

I cant remember which game it was, sum crappy RPG with a rabbid fan boys on the steam forum, I think it was Risen2 or something. anyway... Theres Steam achievements for plaything through the game. WHen I beat the prologue it gave me an achievement and said "Only 10% of players have got this achievement", then at the end of chapter one it gave me another achievement for beaching Chapter One and it said "Only 5% of players have this achievement". But I played though and got to the end for the "Less than one percent of players have this achievement" for beating the game. Then I went on the steam forum and laughed about it. Then I immediately uninstalled it and never want to play that shit ever again.
POE2 reminds me so much of why I hated Gothic3 (same dev as Risen), I bet its Johnathan's favorite game. Last edited by KingDaMuncha#6025 on Mar 7, 2025, 4:26:23 AM

" As one of the biggest "Gothic" fans, yes, "Gothic 3" was horrible at launch. Most systems, even the best at this time, weren't able to run it, bugs were all over the place and so on, BUT it became a decent game after the "community patch" and other fixes. Was it as good as "Gothic 1 & 2"? Pah, no. Not even close. The first two games are, in my opinion, the top RPGs ever made (at least if you speak German and get the humor). "Risen 1" was great too, but I cannot remember what happened with "Risen 2". I wouldn't judge it via Steam achievements because these were times when many don't use Steam for every game. Active Twitch views helps indicate the interest in a game and it's numbers compared to all the other games out there. (As bots typically don't watch Twitch skewing numbers like bots do for player count metrics.)
Right now, PoE2 is 109th in view count in between South Park: The Stick of Truth and The Simpsons: Hit & Run. Even old-school Super Mario World has more interest. Yikes! |
