PoE 2 has lost over 80% of its players in 3 months.

There are also a lot of players waiting for new content. There's no point in continuing to play a beta if you feel like you're done.
I'm still waiting for the hundred dollars worth of currency I purchased in December that hasn't hit my account to start playing at all. I contacted support in December, got a response in January asking for my character names and I provided it.. and it's been silence ever since. I'll come back when that gets addressed.

what about all the content thats already in the game that people cant play because of bad balance? they dont have to be adding content to make people happy, they could balance mace / fire skills for example.

Balancing is certainly important. There is also the factor of beta and lack of content that leads to a decreasing number of players. I also think that we will only see the final balancing when all classes have been released
I think it’s more likely that 0.2.0 when it arrives will contain some extra content and some balancing but not all (for the current classes) and then as you say the final balance change when all are out.
People are asking for both, it would make sense for some of each next.

POE2 has much better graphics, better effect both visual and sound, better animations, better campaign and even has ENDGAME, unlike POE1 on start. And yet...

That's not an argument. For it's release date (2013) Path of Exile had also good graphics for an ARPG and it was a true successor (also technical) to Diablo 2. And lets not forget that Path of Exile 1 had only Diablo 3 as a true competitor, while PoE2 has Diablo 3, Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 1 as competitors and there are also way more ARPGs on the market. AND lets not forget that Path of Exile 2 starts with 570k, while Path of Exile 1 only had 35k and that even the best season from PoE1 only had half of the playerbase at release (Settlers of Kalguur). AND on top of that PoE2 EA, like I said before, costs money, while PoE1 was always free.

Well, i can only talk for myself and i think the learning curve is too high for new Players.
The Passive Tree is decent but respeccing needs a rework and Ascendary switch should be implemented.

OR, another good Option would be you get a second lvl 60 Char from the same Class, that you can try out both and don´t have to twink over and over again, because let´s be Honest... 2 times that Campaign is enough.

The Atlas Map.. weeell.. It has a good Foundation and went in a wrong Direction.
To be forced Playing maps you cannot even switch the Biome.. meh..

Same goes for Crafting and drops, that gatcha Garbage i have no words for in my whole gametime i never found more then amulets or rings for myself to use.

RMT is the next Aspect... i would Punish the buyers too, because no one can Handle the Sellers effectively. Make it illegal in General and those "Subjects" will decrease in numbers and the Market will cure itself.

Just suggestions... got some game time on my watch but the last 2 weeks i grew tired of "Path of Trading".
Spent 220 hours when released in December and January, now with Monster Hunter releasing in a week i will give this game more time to improve before coming back. I am counting on coming back at around May/June hope by then they have released some meaningful updates.

PoE1 wasn’t always free, there was at some point an Early Access equivalent (don’t recall when as was before my time with the game) which caused speculation on the lifetime spending to get free PoE2 key.
I’d agree 100% there is a far greater choice of dungeon crawlers (hate this arpg genre name, feels invented to separate what didn’t need to be) and some are equal to PoE depending on what sort of experience you want (for example D4 is far more causal friendly, PoE has far more depth).
PoE at launch was far far far more limited than todays PoE, iirc only 3 acts and 54 maps and no atlas (but as I said it was before my time) and less ‘league mechanics’ than PoE2 has in EA.
I feel like a lot of players made an error of buying a PoE2 key (lifetimers got it for free) and only die hard PoE vets should have dived in ‘blind’, feels like they expected a far far more complete experience and that’s just not how betas (EA is a synonym for beta) are. We hoped for all the acts but didn’t expect it, we were told endgame would be included but knew it wouldn’t be complete and anyone that’s ever played any beta knows it needs tuning over time to get it right.
Loses of player base are sad but expected, most games (even full release that don’t have live service) diminish in appeal over time. The good news is that GGG will 100% add new content, classes, acts and endgame activities over the EA and we just need to be patient.
What I will say is a regular post in for example a ‘what we are working on’ thread in poe2 announcements would be a huge deal for players, communication is key to customer satisfaction and at the moment I feel that that is lacking. For PoE Chris Wilson promised, and for the most part kept to it, that every 2 weeks there would be updates, that of course got reduced as the game got more settled into what we have now. I like to see a similar two week update post on what’s going on (not the gritty details but some indicators) and don’t even expect dates until they’re finalised or can be reliably estimated.

Now that Chris is officially gone, don't expect a lot. If all of insiders info was correct (and it seems it was) things are going very bad with POE2 development. And well, 3 months to release map stash tab also tells smth.
