STEAL FROM LAST EPOCH!!! Marketplace League with MF Changes + Dedicated SSF

makes me wish LE went in the WASD and weighty direction

They seem to have WASD "beta" in upcoming season 2, might be not that fluid at the start but they are listening and trying to get it working good apparently.

SSF is fine just the way it is. They don't need to change it or "make it easier". It is supposed to be harder.

I would understand if it were a league that almost no one would play and they had to rework it, but it is not the case. There are a lot of players already enjoying it.

its important that players understand that SSF mode in POE solely existed because players whined and begged GGG for this mode, telling GGG they dont need to make any changes to the drop rate.

many players dont know the history behind SSF game mode in POE and always say SSF feels bad not knowing its a mode that exists SOLELY as a harder game mode.

but on the flip side, i m not opposed to the idea of having a NEW game mode where drops are rebalanced around NOTRADE.

tbh i m sick and tired of just farming up currency and buying stuff up on trade.

i've avoided all forms of SSF in modern diablolikes because its dumb. theres no benefit to do so.

but i've recently rolled one in LE. my progression is VERY STEADY and i dont feel like i m wasting too much time. i m rolling in currency and i feel so comfortable crafting gear.

POE2 is improving by leaps and bounds but i'm kinda checking out from mindless grinding just to hope for a divine. but i ll never feel comfortable enough to craft in POE games as long as the drops take trade into consideration.

and for that reason i might not even want to continue playing poe. i've learned to respect my time more. tho i definitely want to try the campaign when its finally complete

And then, introduce a Dedicated SSF alongside the Marketplace league and all its magic find changes where you cannot migrate to standard/Trade league, and go absolutely nuts. Flat out double base magic find

Since GGG isn't stupid and they're not in the slightest doing something like that, I have to assume they're happy with the current system. Happy as in they make money this way. It's a profit driven company after all.

They are stupid if they don't think a no-trade option that offers progression benefits to compensate wouldn't be well received. I don't trade. SSF is so pointless that I and plenty of others don't even bother joining it, the only reason to is to race the leaderboard. This game's piss poor progression and mind numbingly frustrating trade system are detriments for a lot of people. SSF was pointless. I was incredibly disappointed that it did literally nothing other than being a new leaderboard. The only reason PoE remains on top is because it's the WoW of Diablo-likes, there haven't been any that have come out that have a chance to dethrone it, and that complacency is making the game measurably and objectively worse. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with introducing more modes to cater to more people. It won't "split" the population, either, in any meaningful way since most people who want a no-trade mode with progression and drop rate improvements already don't trade so only people who like having the option will stay in those leagues.

Loot roulette with absolutely no ability to curve it in your favor in any way whatsoever is not difficulty. It is not harder. It's just a time sink - the one that makes infinite rolls at the roulette wheel will eventually hit jackpot. There's no difficulty in that.
