Auction House when?

no chance that would trivilize trading
just leave comment on steam and make it negative ...

MAYBE they take that pressure.. dunno
i spent alot of time to make some trades today. ppl are not answering...

the oficial trade site needs update, to put in the search things like 2 charm slot, and when player choses to trade surly with on line ppl, some off them aspear on line, but he isd not.

yes... we need a better way to make trades.
Answer:

Never.

Because the Devs - even after giving Chris the leather toe exit - absolutely refuse to make trading even moderately pleasant or easy.

And, well, they know the level and quantity of scams that would explode across their servers the moment they implemented one.
Patch Notes 3.15:
Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive.
Patch Notes 3.19:
Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. This bug cannot be corrected, so we have implemented a 90% reduction in item access as a punishment.

The suggestion of an auction house or any kind of instant trading used to illicit huge backlash among many of the veteran players.

Sure, there were still plenty of those who approved of an AH, but writing about this was a good way to get a huge list of 'why we shouldn't have it's' usually following the original vision and perhaps a slander or two against the OP.

With the way the community has invoked GGG to make changes rapidly, I have no doubt they could swing this one eventually.

It is far past time we had more convenience trading.
+1 Makes no sense not to focus some effort into this qol improvement.
TIME FOR TO TRY WELL DESIGNED AH TO TEST!

Its early access!

Add AH,

say 'we gonna test it',

say 'if it fuk up we will remove it'

say 'current trade system wont be removed '

ITS EA. YOU CAN TEST ANYTHING!

Trading now is ultra hard because loading new zone tanks forever if compared to PoE1. I want AH, mail delivery or system like currency exchange.

Except, if you look at how many scams and such happen in POE1 for console, vs the amount of price-fixing and scams that exist for PC POE1, you'll see that it's effectively zero on console, and rampant on PC.

The difference? Us console players have an in-game market. PC has the website.

It is just about impossible to scam or price-fix on console because of the way the in-game market works. If you have thousands of items to search through, and almost no way to filter it besides arcane commands, and even then still get hundreds, and not sorted at all (plus, if you back out and come back in, the whole thing will be in even more random order).

On PC, you can search, filter, sort, and more, with extreme ease. This leads to easy price-fixing. Worse, since all the trades happen person-to-person, directly, this means if someone figures out a way to scam the trade mechanics, they can easily do it.

The in-game market?

Nah, you find the item you want to make an offer on, and the seller then has to ok that offer or refuse it. There's no way to scam it other than to hope the seller hits the wrong button. If they are selling for 1 divine, and you offer 1 chaos... they just refuse it. If you offer 1 divine, it is held in the market until either you cancel the offer, they refuse it, or they accept it.

There aren't other options. And most players I know on console, if you send them a whisper offering to buy an item, they will either ignore you, or tell you to make the offer in the market. We have things to do... we will get to you when we aren't doing stuff.

The only downsides the in-game market has:
1- AFK sellers. You might find an item with an online seller, but in reality they are at work, but left their character online.
2- Because they might be mapping, or something else, it might take 10-60 minutes to get a response on your offer.

The Website (when properly used, as I have discovered playing POE2) either results in no response, or immediate response. So, just spam person after person after person until you get a response, and be back to playing in almost no time.

But, see, this is exactly what GGG said they do NOT want: players able to just buy what they want at specific breakpoints in their build. They want it to be difficult enough that finding and/or crafting is a real path of progression. The website is the exact opposite of that, it makes buying what you want no problem at pretty much every given moment, and immediately.

Even more, console players are still going to have bad difficulties handling the website, because most console players do not have PCs, they have phones though. And, that website is NOT mobile-friendly. My phone has a BIG screen, and the website still doesn't fit well, with me having to scroll and pinch and more. It's bad.

However, I do have a PC, so I can just use that instead. Most console players don't have that option. And, one of GGG's points in their manifesto was that they don't want disparity between players on access to gear progression. Yet, PC having the website, and Consoles having bad problems using that website? That's disparity.

Honestly, the best way forward, to keep with their manifesto? To implement an in-game market like the one in POE1, and to remove the POE2 trade website. It puts ALL of us on even terms, makes trading problematic enough that finding/crafting is still a good way to get gear, AND makes scamming/price-fixing almost impossible.

It satisfies their own wishes and mandates.
