PoE2 should fundamentally FEEL different to play than PoE1

My inexperienced perspective as a newcomer to PoE, first time playing was PoE2 with 200hrs. Played hundreds of hours of Grim Dawn as the only other ARPG I have experience in.

GGG should NOT build PoE2 like PoE1. They said they want to support both games. I want both games to exist, but I want them to feel different to play. I want PoE2 to feel slow and impactful (like the starting campaign Act 1 and 2). I have not seen any other ARPG that has this style/feeling of combat (very souls-like which I like). This is a selling point for the game that I don't believe any other ARPG can fulfill. On the other side, I want PoE1 to feel fast and zoomy (I want to try it soon).

Other ARPGs that I am aware of seem to fall somewhere in the middle and they all look like they would feel the same (outside perspective), but PoE1 takes it to the extreme with speed stacking and PoE2 sits on the opposite spectrum of slow and weighty (I'm thinking of warrior and yes starting out feels bad).

Stop advocating for faster speed in PoE2. It will just turn into PoE1, meaning there is no reason for PoE1 to exist. PoE2 turns into PoE1 and PoE1 gets deleted. That is not a good situation in general. There would be less content for players to enjoy.

I understand the current state of PoE2 allows for speed stacking and zooming, but I don't believe that is the intent (I feel like they want to tone down those extremes in the next patch). Great systems should be shared between PoE1 and PoE2 if it fits, but the fundamentals should not. If they feel too similar, I think most would just stick with one game which means GGG will likely drop one of them.

Yeah? Well, you know, that's just like uh, your opinion, man.
My most hated game.
My most favorite game.
Such is the duality of man.

No idea what you are rambling on about. The top performing builds in POE2 are significantly more Zoomy than POE1. In POE1 its rare someone can clear three screens away without even seeing the bosses. Most quick zoom builds have a significant amount of risk that one missed button and you are instantly dead. And yet you talk like POE2 is a slow deliberate game? I have never seen a POE build like the herald ice stack in POE2 where you never even SEE the enemies or the boss.

Whatever you are smoking it is probably illegal.

Of course I did. Twice out of astonishment that someone who has actually played the game could think that POE2 isn't ALREADY far beyond what POE1 is in zooming. At the same time you say you want to try POE1 to play zoomy build. I would suggest you go do exactly that. Look up a good beginner build like Righteous Fire by Pohx and then go play it. Kill Maven (an endgame boss) and then come back here. I will be waiting for the "Oh I get it now" post.

Best of luck.
It does feel different. When you play poe1 you click on poe1 icon to start playing. When you play poe2 you click on poe2 icon to start playing.

Ok, so you didn't properly read it.

...and you don't properly read names either apparently since you are replying to me as if the OP was written by me.
+1 Totally agree

PoE1 Zoom zoom explode all shit one button loot pinata all day
PoE2 Slow, meaningful, dodge, learn, progress, challenge

I can enjoy both, but like most players I'll lean towards one of them. Anyway, it only benefits to draw a clear line and keep the playstyles different. Better for players too choose, better for developer to cover larger playerbase.
I agree keep them different. Poe 1 and 2 should be different!
