So its been a bit and theres some videos on druid class gameplay. Does that mean we're near a new class launch??? Is there any information about new class release scheduling or league releases???? Im assuming many ppl are already ready for new content in this game

I bought an EA key right after watching the EA reveal video GGG did because i love minion builds and i was hyped about trying out all the new mobs as Spectre's which was shown in that video. It was only when i was about lvl10 in EA that i noticed there was no spectre gem, then after searching online saw it had been stated that Spectre's wont be available at EA launch... and then were told they arent even coming soon and they are a "medium soonish something or other" distance away... Why were they in the promo video then??

Swords were in the promo video. So were the Huntress and Druid. A lot of things already have their models completed, but while things were okay to be in a video, they're not stable/viable in the current build. Maybe spectres were breaking the game, crashing every now and then. Who knows.

Anyway, it's a beta. Spectres will be there at one point, either before or at release.

To answer to the OP : No one knows. They'll announce it when they're ready. Now, they pretty much stated that they're working towards the next content release (patch 0.2.0). This could mean Druid/Huntress and some new items. Could mean nothing.

They took a lot of their staff from PoE1 to PoE2 so that they could finish PoE2 faster, much to the disappointment of PoE1 players. They'll release new content when it's ready. I don't want a mess, I don't wantto be soon fed content: I want meaningful updates, and it takes time.

It's pretty much common knowledge that Early Access is a game in any point between its minimum viable playable condition (Beta) and the original release. Right now, it's closer to a Beta state than anything else.

I'm not defending GGG decision to exclude Spectres, but I'm not sure where you're getting at. It's obvious some things would not be making the cut for the December 6 EA start, for a reason or another. It's not a full release, yet you're acting like it is. We're missing 6 classes, their weapons/skills, 24 ascendancy classes and a whole half of the campaign. That, we knew beforehand. I'm not happy about the missing classes and skills, but we knew.

I'm not hearing anywhere that everything we were seeing in any of the promo videos was going to be available right at the start of the EA, but if we do, and you find that proof, you should contact GGG that directly, call them liars and ask for a refund/compensation.

Promotional Material is usually used in a very limited and enclosed space. Deciding to use certain things that work in a very limited environment is common practice in the game industry and beyond as well. Take Dark souls 2 and its graphics in one of its gameplay trailers. Game didn't look exactly like that.

With swords and the featured classes, They might have had maybe 1-2 skills working properly and that was showcased in the promotional video. Imagine including swords with 1-2 skills working, most likely excluding every other factor in support gems etc and how horrible that would have been. Same thing with Spectres and other things that are currently not in the game. There's a reason why they're still cooking, not ready yet.

Jonathan himself said in the QA that Huntress and Druid are currently not in a state that they feel is ready to be brought into the fold.

I'm not sweating, I'm just watching the play by play.
Maybe its because im from the UK, if you put out an advert for a product that showed and promoted something visually and verbally but it wasnt included in the price yet, you would have to say so clearly in that advert, or the ad would be banned as misleading.

Pulled up some litigation regarding filing a misleading advertisement with the ASA in the UK. Also looking through rulings related to Promotional/Advertising Early access games on the ASA website, I would assume they have documentation related to Early Access games. I personally don't think the trailers and gameplay mislead anyone to an egregious amount right?

I played the POE 2 Demo at PAX East 2024 and it felt pretty similar to the EA so..

I've seen pretty horrendous false promises from 7 Days to Die devs who had one of the kickstarter promises being Adding Bandit NPC's and lo and behold its been like 8-9 years and still no "Bandit NPC's" They went into full release and haven't completed their kickstarter goals

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I see. In the UK, wouldn't a company be "absolved" from such requirement if they wrote or said at one point that what you were seing in the videos "wasn't final" and could be subject to change without notice? I know that they can get out of such predicament here by writing some stuff like that, or by assuming that it's not a final build and that content is limited and will change over time (that would mean that some skills could be removed).

Regardless, it's annoying that your skill of choice didn't make the cut. More content will eventually make its way in the game. Right now, it's just not in a great place when it comes to the number of skills as we're missing half the classes, and probably more than half the skills.

Also, it's possible that they changed the Spectres to be the undisclosed Witch Ascendancy class unique skill, hence why it was apparently removed from the EA. That would be annoying to anyone wanting to use the skill and not use the Witch though.

Thematically speaking, it wouldn't really fit the Templar's skillset, nor the Druid's obviously, and it's subject to change, but there are some Minions nodes in the passive tree in the Templar/Druid spot and between the Witch and the Templar/Druid. Nodes like "Fleshcrafting", "Deadly Swarm", "Restless dead", "Crystaline flesh" evoque the possibility that the Templar might have some less "holy" spells aside the "Sentinels" minions it might have, and that the Raise Spectre skill is a Templar one. It's highly unlikely, however.

Anyway, it's more likely that after further testing, it simply wasn't ready for December 6, like many things. I really would have prefered if they took a few more months to polish things out and maybe release more skills, but it is what it is.

no problem with any of that if theyd made it clear in the promo video for EA, they could very easily have removed the ~20 seconds of video/audio that showed and spoke about spectres, but they didnt because they knew some players would be hyped about it and pay for EA, hence misleading.
