PoE1 and PoE2 development - Maybe a solution for the next 6 month?
I understand that many players are currently frustrated since the release of another PoE1 season was postponed without a clear date. Not everyone wants to play PoE2 or at least some want to wait until full release. Therefore, not supporting PoE1 for a long time period is ofc like a punch in the face. This frustration leads to many players here joining the "discussion" to vent off their frustration - most often with not so nice words.
As some have already suggested, I think a good way to make amends is to restart a PoE1 season, so that people at least have something to play with a fresh economy. Right now, only 8k players are playing Kalguur, which means, trade is basically dead. And for many, playing PoE1 without trade and a non-active chat is not worthwhile. I would go further with my suggestion: Make a poll for the community with all seasons PoE1 ever had. From Anarchy/Onslaught to Settlers of Kalguur. And then let the community vote. Every player should have 2 votes. In the end, you launch a season with the 2 top most rated seasons integrated. Yes, there would be no new content, but at least the community would have the 2 most liked seasons combined in one and a fresh new economy, while you can focus on PoE2. I think some private leagues were announced that's gaining traction. Of course I wouldn't mind something like an endless delve or the re-introduction of some past special events.

At least when it comes to "running previous leagues", I'm not so sure its as easy as you might think. Since those leagues ran, many many many changes have been done to the core aspects of the game. Which likely will NOT play well with the league as it was, or even at all.
Example: I can't imagine them just "running Crucible" again...all the code that made the Crucible league what it was, may be dumped completely or heavily modified Far easier would be to run some of their weekly event ideas again, for an extended duration. " I tend to agree. Maybe something similar to endless delve but longer lasting? |

Personally I would love "Mayhem" for like 5 months. That would be freaking awesome. Even if they deactivated trade.
Every area rolls multiple sets of dice: 1 for the # of extra content, others for the types of extra content. Who cares about rotation and balance? Right now its just purely about fun and keeping players happy in the short term Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Jan 31, 2025, 1:34:01 PM

" Interesting that you brought up deactivating trade. I'm wondering if allowing "free" private leagues would be an option?? I'd prefer limited group-found trading as compared to forcing SSF per-se. |

I brought up deactivating trade because this would be the biggest cause of complaints for event-like PoE (especially mayhem). Drops will be too great, and the market will be absolute trash. But GGG can't manage it or re-balance because they are busy.
So just have it be uber rewarding and unbalanced, but pretty much SSF. Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Jan 31, 2025, 1:36:19 PM

" While I doubt GGG would do it I wouldn't mind being in an Uber-rewarding & unbalanced league for the heck of it BUT I'd recommend that any characters from those leagues [including stashes] just get wiped at the end of the league. You let players cut loose for once BUT you don't necessarily ruin the economy in "standard". |
