Reinstalled the game, lost my current character

So yesterday I reverted my PC to an earlier Windows version and formatted its drive. PoE was on another partition so after reinstall I tried to boot it just out of curiosity, and it did boot up, but with characters in Standard from when i played like 4 years ago (?) my current character on Settlers was nowhere to be seen.

So I said OK, i'll delete this PoE, clean up the registry, and download a fresh install. Which I did, but I'm still seeing only the old characters. Obviously that's more than a little annoying since I put a lot of love into crafting my very own half-functioning summoner build.

Some help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure that you are logging in with the correct account? This one that you are posting from has the following character visible:

The_Blessed_Lady
Level 92 Necromancer
Settlers League

You also have 2 other characters.

All characters etc are saved server-side.

I have only one account on PoE, it's the one you are seeing. It's public. You can see my half-decent minion wand I'm so proud of :)

When I log in with that account, password, e-mail, all of it - into PoE post PC format, what i see is a bunch of characters in Standard from 4 years ago.

The_Blessed_Lady has disappeared. Along with her 7 swagged out Spectres. I am more sad about that than about any other PoE news today, if you can believe it.

And to think, my Windows rollback actually improved my PC performance by a metric ton. Win11 sucks, btw.

When you login and get to the character selection screen, make sure that next to "filter characters" that you have "show all" leagues selected.

As I said previously, your characters are saved and stored server-side, not on your PC.

I appreciate your trying to help. Show all is and was turned on from the beginning. It's not on me not getting something in game UI.

What I'm seeing in char selection screen for some reason are all the characters I rolled with when I first installed PoE.

Regarding character saving serverside, I read that they transferred that offline to users' PCs a few years back. It might be false info, but regardless of that my situation stays the same.

What happens if you try to login to one of those old characters?

No, they load me to oriath docks (the old epilogue), talk to lilly roth, get flipped to karui shores, talk to kirac, start the endgame.

i also made a new char on settlers, and its a *completely* new character, meaning all my settlers/kingsmarch progress is not recognized by the game client.

i wont even go into the currencies i managed to scrape and all the other stuff not existing stash-wise.

i also emailed support, but thinking back on it, i mailed them about this from my main mail (gmail), not the one i use to log in to PoE (outlook), which probably means it won't even get looked at since the mail i sent it from is not linked to a poe account -.-

ps - none of the characters the game offers me to play are visible here. not even the new one i made on settlers to test it. meaning there is an obvious disconnect between what poe has on my characters here, online, and what the *game client* hasd on my characters through whatever process it does its thing.

Another thought - OneDrive interferes with a load of things - make sure any game-related files don't get synced to it.

I disabled Onedrive autobooting as soon as I was able to when I first booted my Win 10. Not expert enough to know on my own if that was a good or bad thing in relation to my problem here.

AFAIK it was always running during my current run in Settlers on that cursed win11 abomination they dare call an OS.

If there's any idea regarding this that could impact my issue, PLEASE SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS <3 main reason i formatted was because win11 was tanking my entire PCs performance (i dont really have a top tier gaming rig), primarily because how it would tank PoEs FPS compared to my earlier experiences.

You could try syncing OneDrive as you said that it was running when you were playing before - that might get the missing data back, if it was in one of those synced game files.

Then disable it again :D

I'm on Win 11 with no issues re FPS etc.
