I feel betrayed and lied to

With the quote that POE2 will not affect POE1 at all.

I have over ten thousands hours in POE1, and have spent thousands of euros on it. I like POE2, however it is nowhere close to POE1 for me. I just don't understand why you would wait 7+ months to tell us this, and make current league to possibly run for over a year.

There is no such quote, but PoE is their bread and butter. You just don't cut off your food supply chasing a dessert that _might_ taste good in a couple of years.

thats not saying poe2 development will not effect poe1 at all tho right? hes saying that poe2 existing doesnt mean poe1 cant be its own thing and keep developing its own seperate ideas and direction. hes talking about the long term trajectory of the games, thats very different thing to guaranteeing that no poe1 league will ever be delayed due to development of poe2. he doesnt even guarantee that it wont effect poe1s long term trajectory hes just saying it doesnt necessarily have to, its not a forgone conclusion that it must effect it.


to me it seemed inevitable that poe2 existing would disrupt the poe1 schedule during the open beta/full release window. they would be insane to think that couldnt happen.




dont get me wrong, im not excusing what has happened by any stretch, and maybe theres another clip where they do say it somewhere. but if there is they are crazy, i would have bet money on delays happening.

Too bad, they already knew that they did not start and would not start with 3.26 a long time ago. A lot of people were waiting for a new league announcement, and then we get this news, they could have given this news earlier.

If this keeps on beeing the new gold standard for GGG there wont be a community but only a hypetrain they are chasing.
I doubt they will catch as many new players with a POEII league and get them committed to our community.
I think it also shows in trading that the community values are not shared with those coming in for the hype from poeII

yeah when they didnt have a league 3 months after settlers they should have just made the call, said to the community hey, we can keep doing regular leagues if its greatest hits tour stuff, would you rather that than have big delays?


everyone would have said yes, then its a green light, youre giving the community what theyre saying they want. youve bought yourself 6-12 months.


they let it drag on and it was a mistake thats just kept getting worse. ive made many mistakes in my life im not gonna hate, i have a lot of love for jonathan, mark, chris, all the people at ggg. is what it is. but no denying its a mess for sure.





thats why i think they need to just release something, now. pull the people, get some really cool old content together in a package, get it done and out the door in the next 7-10 days.

cause its bad for poe2 if a poe1 league drags players away during a critical release time, and its bad for poe1 to go another 2 or 3 months without a league. right now poe2 is in waiting mode for the next patch, nothing meaningful is happening. get a league out right now so people can play it for the next 4-6 weeks before the next big poe2 launch. that takes all the pressure off both games and lets the devs do what we know they need to do which is put everything into this next poe2 cycle.
