So Since PoE1 is Officially Dead

Played the demo for this and it was surprisingly good, ignore any of the DEI posting on the forums, in the 4 hours I played there were like 2 lines of harmless dialog.
I always like going through these threads to see how many of the people posting have never had more than 5-10 challenges in any league.

I don’t know how it is relevant how many challenges one completes. I personally hate challenges and never do them. The ones I have completed were accidental while playing. I love creating builds from scratch, and I usually experiment with a new build every league in SSF. Does that make me a bad player? Or does that make my opinion not matter?
I definitely spent time getting them some leagues, but only when it was an explicit goal. I've never done the full 40 yet.
I’ve heard good things about V rising, gotta try it sometime I suppose ;)

Simple amusements as they say.

Personally when I semi-occasionally see someone making too big of a deal about challenges I immediately expect their argument failed and they need a simple way to copium past that.

Then I can't help but wonder; if they put that much significance in following directions 40 times. how many of their challenges were purchased in global or trade 820?
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.

I think the only time I cared was Legion league for the purple crystal aura or effect thingy there was like one other 38 MTX that looked good I cared about but I can't for the life of me remember which one it was..

I feel like GGG could 100% make league MTX a lot cooler and I would engage with challenges a lot more often.

poe2 is so boring to me
played poe1 for years started on xbox got a pc to grind more and experience the poe pc side of things made me love the game even more

tryed poe2 at lauch got too act 3 got bored the campaign is boring asf and slowwwwwwwwwwww

ended up missing the event of poe1 because i went to another game then i just quit poe2 0.2 lauch
finished act3 and i just cba its a slug everything is slow

hoping for a new league on poe1 soon and i dont miss it from stopping playing now
playing lots of the mod "Roguetech" for the game Battletech. Turn based mech game, lil bit like X-Com. It gives me the gameplay loop i miss with PoE1, do random content i want, improve my gear(mechs are highly customizable), level up my pilots, so i can do harder content. I was out of PoE2 for different reasons (i hate the endgame, the atlas doesnt let me choose my endgame, but forces me to play stuff i dont wanna play, on longer maps without movement skills, blabla, we all have been there).
I dont even mind the "Dark Souls-ification of PoE that much, but the reactions we are getting to these (very valid) complaints ("its the players that are out of touch, not us") by Jon almost makes me angry i spent so so much money over the years thats apparently not getting used for the game i spent it on. In the end, i am just sad. Well, all good things must come to an end, just sucks that GGG is doing it to themselves.
