A Message to Path of Exile 1 Players

I'm absolutely shattered with what's happened to the game and company we all love, all the money and time I have personally invested (money is my choice but I did it because I had a strong believe and love for GGG as a company and the vision they had) and for things to have panned out the way they have with the release of POE2 and now hearing what's happening with POE1 is absolutely shattering.

I haven't played more then 5 minutes of POE2 because it just isn't the same game I fell in love with, which is ok, no one is meant to love or like everything but this is gut wrenching because this has been a 10+ year journey.

Things aren't meant to be forever I guess, time to maybe move on and rip the band-aid off.
All I can say is f*$@ you. This is honestly along the same lines as Diablo 4 breaking its promises. I don't post here, ever. But this is complete BS and someone needs to get Chris Wilson back in front of the camera. POE 2 is in early access, it is fine in that state. You cannot simply fail your original audience, while actually failing your new audience, just to keep on top of the cash grab.

You already failed hundreds, or thousands, of players by not transferring over guild stash tabs or even finding a solution (like giving even a portion of the points back).

I have more than 6000 hours in POE 1, and less than 100 in POE 2 simply because it isn't there yet.

Solution: Simply get league challenges into POE 2 to give old players a reason to play more, or simply remember it is in early access and treat it as such.

This is truly, absolutely, unacceptable. And this would have never happened with Chris Wilson at the helm. Your apology is not enough.
PoE 1 is in a great state so I see why the team has chosen to fix POE 2 over new content for POE 1. As POE 2 defintely needs some help. I can also understand why the POE 1 players are sad and frustrated, a compromise could be to bring back an old league or make a wacky leauge where there are unique modifers that are always applied... Could be interesting, and hopefully easy to implement.

My support is still with GGG, we are all human we all make mistakes. In my opinion no need to throw in the towel. Even if they dont bring a new league for a while there is so much content you can do in that game, and so many different builds you can make that there is always something to do.

Just close PoE1 and focus on PoE2. There is no reason of releasing a PoE2 and maintain PoE1.

Just add brand new things. We had enough PoE1

I legitimately can't believe this is how my favorite game of all time dies. I wish I liked PoE 2 but it's legitimately the most boring arpg I've ever played and now I'm just completely lost. Can't you guys run a legacy league with Ritual league's Harvest mechanics, Necropolis crafting, and recombinators?
gimme money bitch
I do not think I have been this depressed in a long time. It feels like the passing of a loved one.

I have 15k hours of POE, it is a love letter to its fans and the culmination of such care and joy.

I have 100 hours of poe2 and that was entirely out of love for GGG. It is early access but its vision is not for me. It is not crafted for the fans, instead it feels like we know better than you forced upon us. Even the small changes they have made feel like steps backwards not forwards.

Honestly not releasing something small like an endless delve event or a flashback/legacy league that would require little to no development time feels like a slap in the face. Its literally all we would need to keep our love alive.

I think they believe releasing any content for the better game would delete hype for the new shiny one. I hope they reconsider and give us something even if its tiny. I am not playing poe2 again this year so releasing something small for the real POE is the only way to make me continue supporting their product.
thank you for your hard working! Please get them done on time!
You killed a fully released game with a working loop for the vision of an idea.
i was expecting this announcement to be a about the release date of a fully fledged, non-neglected PoE1 league in the next two weeks.

and in another 3 months we're going to get one of these half-assed leagues that only a handful of people worked on...

this is absolutely not okay.
Not surprised, but the state of PoE2 on EA made lose my remaining interest. I understand PoE2 is important, but I'm not going to play PoE2 in its current state, and if PoE1 isnt updated, I'm just kindof done. I might come back in a few years, but I'm just tired.
