GGG Can you just let us know you are dropping POE1 Support so we stop waiting?

"
Kind of ironic coming from you who min-maxes the fun outa the game.

This does not require a new league.
Honestly if I wanted to play some PoE1 right now I would just log in, play around with some stuff and min-max the fun out of my free time. It's that simple.

"
If 3.26 comes out will you play it?

Depends on how good or bad the league looks like, and what other games are on the list during that time.
It's nice to be flexible without the fear of not having a new POE1 league asap :)
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

What you say is very true and personally a quick update from GGG would help solve what I would like to accomplish with content creation time. If no new PoE 1 league then I can start a new PoE 1 series or play Re:Metaphor (I dont want to stop and then restart something) as a new PoE 1 league would take priority over these choices.

I also create content for a totally different channel, work and exercise so the amount of actual time is fairly limiting.

GGG wont release a new league because they dont want to give poe2 competition. they know that a fresh poe1 league would have more players than poe2 and it would look bad if poe2 numbers plummeted overnight. this is why we didnt get a poe1 league last year either and i can sort of understand that. they wanted to sell keys and if there was a fresh free poe1 league to play then many people including myself wouldnt have bought keys. but now 2 months later they should stop milking the key sales and give the people what they want which is a new poe league.

and yes poe2 is very underwhelming indeed. GGG knows this also. this is why they are so worried about giving it competition in the form of a fresh poe league

They never said there won't be a new league. We knew for months at this point that PoE 2 will be the focus for a while after release. What you call a "underwhelming" product already has more players than PoE 1 ever had and ever will have. Not to mention the revenue from early access sales alone - PoE 1 pales in comparison. GGG is a business, profit comes first and foremost. PoE 2 is this companies future, PoE 1 is not. It's only natural for them to have their priorities in check.

PoE 1 will get attention when they see fit and no amount of kicking and screaming will change that.

Yes, you are correct. I think what most PoE 1 players want is a simple answer as to whether a new league is coming or not - thats all. Personally, as I explained in the post before this I need to manage time spent.

PoE 2 needs a lot of work done but they probably needed to get something out due to 10cent pressure. When tons of marketing and publicity went into the game I would sure hope the game has more players than PoE 1 but if you think half of these players will be back season after season to restart you are highly trolling.

If you look at the forums over the past week or 2 a lot of the 'Dad Gamers' are getting to maps/higher endgame and realizing its not a game they want to play season after season if you read posts (and its not the same usernames who complain and complain).

I like PoE 2 but its very, very underwhelming and needs a lot of work.

Lol, of course it has, most POE1 players play poe2 now because there isn't anything left to do in POE1 anymore. And that is why POE1 can't have a new league because GGG don't want poe2 to look bad when all the POE1 players would return to a good POE1 league!

In my own experience, private profile posters tend to want to hide something or are purposely being disingenuous when posting and don't want to be called out. All the chinese farmers I've encountered are also set to private.

And we wouldn't even need to look far anyway: It's a proven fact that people who hide behind anonymity tend to act in ways they would never if their info was publicly available.

So, yeah, I'm also one of those who tends to be skeptical about posters who hide their profiles.

The only time profile matters is when someone asks for help and you need to see their characters in order to do just that... help.
Everything else is just you being nosy or finding ways to belittle people by profiles.

New leagues don't even reach half of the numbers of what PoE2 has.
Even with a new league the numbers of PoE1 would be significantly lower, and the numbers of PoE2 would still be higher despite the some players moving to the other game.

Workforce is simply the only reason for why there's been nothing for PoE1 so far.
GGG simply puts more work into PoE2 at the moment with the main focus to get the game out of early access, while PoE1 is simply already a fully proper functioning product with little need for attention at the moment.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

I disagree. When you join a public discussion [board] on a specific topic, you must lay open your credentials. This [forum] isn't much different. There's a big difference between belittling someone and disputing facts.

This is an example of belittling:

"
Should GGG balance encounters around people who open their passive tree and random-click 80 skillpts and call it a day and expect to clear content/bosses?

This is an example of both:

well ''git good'' is the only decent reply

It just means your build or your gameplay suck

I love how your 4 Deadeyes are lvl 95, 95, 94 and 92.

You have a single lvl 100 character, dude. And it's a full tank Carrion Golem build. All you play is some type of ranged build, with the exception of a Cyclone guy.

It's always hilarious to me where these "git gud" comments are coming from.

If you are going to join a discussion about melee or melee range builds having a harder time with leveling up with the existing EXP penalty, and if all you are playing is ranged builds, then you don't have a leg to stand on. Any and all following "git gud" comments are automatically invalidated. I don't think I need to explain this logic to anyone.

That is why checking out profiles is neither being nosey or belittling. It's called fact checking. And for the record, most of those that were talking shit and subsequently got called out by me personally, have since changed their profile to private. So, I'd say it's working as intended.

At the core, this is still using a profile to belittle or dismiss someone. A person says the words they say, and those words are either "right" or "wrong." Their profile doesn't change their words, and thus their profile doesn't change if they're right or wrong, either.

If they're wrong, then use their words to dismiss them. Use their argument in your argument. Using their profile is taking a shortcut. "I don't need to make an argument in response to your words, because look at your profile!" It's literally a fallacy. It's several fallacies, honestly.

It is what it is. Don't try to dress it up differently. Just own it. You're looking for a shortcut. It's okay, people want shortcuts all the time. Life would be exhausting without them.
You're grossly misrepresenting that thread, and I'm sure you're not going to provide the whole context, so maybe you should have just let that thread stay that thread, and let this one be this one.

I didn't misunderstand any mechanic. I explained how an item was misleading. And you went deep into the forest about some semantic argument, mixed in with wanting me to be wrong. But like I said, that's that topic, and this is this one. But it's pretty telling towards my point that you needed to try to bring it up here as well, because of your immense desire for me to be wrong on that topic.

And at any rate, I never hid my profile. So you were even way off topic to bring it up!!

That's crazy.
